Awareness Campaign Launched at Latur Railway Station on World Day Against Child Labour

Latur, June 12: On the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour and the Child Trafficking Prevention Campaign, a special awareness drive was launched at Latur Railway Station. As part of the campaign, informative posters highlighting the issues of child labour and child trafficking were displayed across the railway station premises. Awareness sessions were also conducted with passengers, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, railway officials, and staff to disseminate information on child rights, child protection, and prevention of child trafficking.

The programme was organized by Yuva Rural Association under the Just Rights for Children Campaign. Representatives from the Child Helpline operating under the District Women and Child Development Department, Railway Protection Force officials and staff, and representatives from various departments participated in the event.

Mr. Saddam Shaikh, Project Coordinator of Yuva Rural Association, Mr. Bapu Suryawanshi, District Coordinator of Child Helpline, Mr. Sambhaji Kamble, along with officials and staff from concerned departments, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the growing issues of child labour and child trafficking. They appealed to all sections of society to remain vigilant and contribute towards the protection of children.

The organizers stated that similar awareness activities will be conducted across the district as part of the campaign and appealed for collective support in building a society free from child labour and child trafficking.

The team conducted a field visit to Bhandegaon , Hingoli District to monitor and review the ongoing farm pond (Phad) and water conservation activities. During the visit, the progress of excavation work, water storage structures, and irrigation pipeline installation was assessed.

Interactions were held with farmers to understand the benefits of improved water availability for agriculture and to ensure the quality and timely completion of the works. Our Biogas team visited biogas users in the Bhandara and Nagpur districts, including the villages of Devnara, Dongargaon. During these visits, beneficiaries received training on the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of biogas systems.

The team also provided guidance on the effective use of biogas slurry in agricultural fields and kitchen gardens to enhance soil fertility and crop productivity.

Through training programs, community meetings, beneficiary interactions, testimonials, and household visits, awareness about the biogas project was strengthened. These efforts encouraged more community members to adopt biogas technology and benefit from its environmental, economic, and agricultural advantages.

CNB Repair Work Completed at Dhanora Waidhya Village

Our team successfully completed the repair and restoration of the Cement Nala Bund (CNB) at Dhanora Waidhya, Murtijapur Tehsil, Akola District, Maharashtra. The work included repairing damaged sections, strengthening the structure, masonry and concreting work, and improving overall stability for effective water conservation.

This restoration will enhance water storage capacity, support groundwater recharge, and benefit local agriculture, contributing to sustainable water resource management in the village. The work was completed with active team participation and a focus on quality and long-term durability.

under the BRLF–HIMWP-MH project implemented by YRA in Palli village of Bhamragad Block, an awareness and guidance session on Natural Farming was conducted with local farmers. Detailed information was shared regarding pre-plantation preparations, soil testing, fertilizer planning, and crop protection measures. Interactive discussions were held to address farmers' queries and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The team visited to check the ongoing Sunken DOHA work on village in hingoli under the water secutiry and accessibility project.. Site inspections were carried out in consultation with local farmers and community members.

Additionally, the excavation work for a Jaltara Pit was initiated in Bhandegaon as part of the water conservation and groundwater recharge activities. These efforts aim to enhance rainwater harvesting, improve groundwater recharge, and strengthen sustainable water resource management in the project area.
