Towards Future works for the socio economically challenged people with special focus on Education an Universal education is a great slogan. Xth standard.

The biggest challenges to it are however more widely rooted in social structure and economic conditions than the slogan may suggest. Education in India hardly glitters if one takes a long hard look in it. Apart from rampant commercialization and serious doubts about quality of educational services of the many mushrooming institutions, the one important problem that stares at the conscience of the

society is stark economic realities for millions of our citizens. At the top end we have excellence defined in terms of professional success in socially respected careers and entrepreneurship. That is contrasted by huge scope of reaching the socio economically weaker section of society, large scale development in infrastructure, delivery and content of school education. We, at Towards Future want to address this in our small way. We want to be partners in the current drive for Universal Education for those, who are deprived to have this due to their economic distress and actually make a difference in lives of children and their families below poverty line by bringing education to them. We have identified two areas to be centre of our immediate focus. We want to provide quality pre-school education for the very young and we want to run an educational resource centre for school children providing complementary educational support until they appear for the Public Examination at end of School i.e. It is imperative that Universal Education cannot be achieved without solid advances in women empowerment. While issues of gender have always been at the centre of huge debates on questions of identity politics, it is hardly a matter of debate that empowerment of women at the grass root level has to be achieved for real changes in lives of children and the family. Towards Future has developed programs which changes lives of women by providing training for self employment and running awareness programs on domestic and community health. The concept of Sustainable Development seems to finally have been accepted in the public domain through consistent awareness campaigns and high visibility environment debates. But the change seems to be more at policy level and is often in conflict with frenzy of development. The green voice may be a fashionable thing to be seen to listen to, but when it comes to direct field level work involving communities in areas with vulnerable natural resources. One also cannot ignore issues like rapid deforestation and the overall centrality of human needs instead of concerns for environment sustainability. Towards Future wants to join those in the struggle for establishing prominence for Environmental issues and development of pragmatic real Environment friendly methods of economic activities for communities in regions in need of great efforts towards conservation of natural environments.

🌟 Inter-School Competition 2026 hosted by Towards Future 🌟

At Towards Future, we believe education goes beyond classrooms — it is about creating opportunities where children can express themselves, think critically, and engage with ideas that shape the society.

Our Inter-School Competition 2026 brought together more than 10 schools and 63 students across three events — Quiz, Debate, and Book Talk. The highlight was hearing young voices share fresh, thoughtful perspectives on Rabindranath Tagore, connecting his timeless ideas to today’s world in inspiring ways.

Events like this reaffirm the importance of nurturing creativity, confidence, and critical thinking in the next generation. The active participation and performances by all the children were truly remarkable — full of energy, originality, and passion.

A heartfelt thank you to all the participating schools, the children, and their parents for their support and encouragement. This event would not have been possible without the flawless ex*****on and dedication of our team.

The message is simple yet profound: when children are given a platform, we don’t just witness talent — we witness the shaping of a brighter future.

A Small Gesture, but a Lasting Impact

Some of the most meaningful stories are not planned—they emerge naturally when compassion meets opportunity.

During the orientation of the second cohort of our Skill Development Training Programme on 10/7/26, we learned that one of the newly enrolled trainees, a young woman living in a Women's Home, would be getting married on 12/07/26.

Listening to which, three graduates from our first cohort Beauty care, stepped forward and volunteered to do her bridal makeup.
Two of our graduates from Mehendi also went for the bridal mehendi.
This simple act reflects the true spirit of the programme. Beyond learning technical skills, these young women have developed confidence, empathy, and a willingness to uplift others. They chose to use the skills they had gained not just as a livelihood opportunity, but as a way to make another woman's special day more joyful and memorable.
We are incredibly proud of these women. Their generosity reminds us that the greatest impact of skill development is measured not only in employment, but also in the confidence to give back.

☀️🌈 More Than a Summer Camp – A Space to Dream, Explore and Grow 🌈☀️

For the children of marginalized communities, summer vacations often mean unstructured time at home with limited opportunities for learning and social interaction. A well-designed summer camp can transform this period into a meaningful experience—one that nurtures creativity, curiosity, confidence, and life skills beyond the classroom.

At Towards Future, we believe that every child deserves opportunities to learn, explore, and express themselves in a safe and joyful environment. This belief lies at the heart of our vision to empower children through education, participation, and holistic development.

This summer, children from our learning centers participated in a range of engaging activities tailored to their age and interests. At KidzPlanet Learning Centre, younger children explored the world of Natural Colours through art, Classes III and IV participated in Child Safety sessions Fulki – Session on Personal Safety, and Class V students enjoyed hands-on Science Experiments that encouraged inquiry and critical thinking.

Meanwhile, at our pre-primary school - KidzPlanet Shishumon, children from Nursery I to Transition explored the theme “Dream” through stories, art, music, play, and creative expression. The activities encouraged children to imagine possibilities, build confidence, and share their aspirations in a nurturing environment.

What made the camp truly special was the enthusiasm of the children. Their active participation, excitement to learn something new every day, and eagerness to share their experiences reflected the positive impact of the programme. Teachers observed increased confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication among the participants throughout the camp.

As we continue our journey of creating inclusive learning spaces, initiatives like Summer Camp remind us that education is not only about academic achievement—it is also about helping children discover their potential, find their voice, and dream of a brighter future.

Had the opportunity on 14th May to speak at Ananda Mohan College on the evils of the Dowry System and the urgent need to change our mindset towards gender equality.

Dowry is not just a social issue — it reflects how society still treats girls unequally. Real change will come when we teach both boys and girls the values of dignity, equality, and mutual respect.

Grateful to respected Saswati Di and Nandini Daniary Madam for this opportunity, and thankful to the Principal Sir, professors, and students for such meaningful participation.
