The Bodo Serja, commonly known as Serja, is a traditional four-stringed bowed musical instrument cherished by the indigenous Bodo community of Assam, India. Closely resembling the violin, this chordophone is an essential emblem of Bodo cultural identity and artistry.

The Serja’s deep and soulful tones are heard during various community celebrations. It plays a central role in festivals such as Bwisagu and Domasi.

The 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 (𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘪 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘬𝘢) has long posed a threat to Assam’s wetlands and aquatic life, choking waterways and disrupting local ecosystems. Artisans have responded by harnessing this challenge, collecting and drying Pani Mateka stems to craft a range of 𝗲𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀.
