The ‘Moto’ of AGE-India is the development of ‘thought’ of people of poor sections of the communities in India through appropriate education & Technology extension for upliftment of their Socio-economic status. It is a non-profit, secular, non-governmental voluntary organization working primarily for the welfare of the people from economically weaker sections both in Urban & Rural areas, particularly those engaged in Agriculture, Forestry and animal Husbandry. The AGE has been working from last 20 years and it promotes and extends technical services for sustainable development of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment, Animal Husbandry and also awareness for Health, Family welfare and Nutrition to small/marginal farmers and landless people and also to slum dwellers and urban poors. During the crucial period of its infancy, the AGE has made its presence felt in the areas of Sustainable Resources, Environment, women and Child Welfare, Health & Family Welfare Education, and extension services and have an outreach upto the grass root levels. OBJECTIVE
To provide primary education on agriculture and environment for creating environmental consciousness among the people of weaker sections particularly to those engaged in Agriculture, Forestry and Animal Husbandry. To transfer appropriate technology to small/marginal farmers and landless people for achieving increased food grain production, forest-produce and milk production. To facilitate poor utilization/ exploitation of local resources for healthy environments and to supplement primary source of earnings. To provide solution to global problems using renewable energy and appropriate technology and help projects in developing countries with energy generation, safe water, public health, long distance communications, sustainable agriculture and micro-enterprise employment. Conducting Research and Development Advisory Committee for providing consultancy on matters of programme management & promotion of farm machinery by using “hard technology” for these projects: design & engineering, equipment and part supply, training and installation of machines. To work for the improvement of Socio-economic status of the people of poor sections in rural and urban areas through skill development training programmes. To carry out research & evaluation on Socio-economic Environment. Health & Family Welfare, Nutrition and Population related issues. To create inventive for the establishment of social forestry at the micro - level among the rural/tribal people’s farm. To enhance bio-energy, renewable energy sources for sustainable eco-management. To foster links between communities, people, public bodies and bodies and voluntary agencies through developmental activities. To take up action projects and the grass - root level relating to the welfare of disadvantaged and poor groups of population. SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES
The scope of activities of AGE India is all India to carry out research provide consultancy services and undertake action projects in the fields of Sustainable Resource Management, Agriculture, Environment, Urban Development, Health, Nutrition and Family welfare, Women & Child Welfare Education, Social Development, Prevention & control of diseases, Income Generating activities and other developmental issues. The technical manpower is drawn from various streams of Agriculture, Environment, Engineering & Technology, Medicine, Biology, Education, Economics, Management, Social Science etc. Besides, Services of Consultants/Experts are being availed for specialized requirements.
