Five Technion Researchers Receive Israel Cancer Research Fund Grants
Congratulations to five Technion researchers who have been awarded prestigious grants from the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF), supporting innovative research that brings us closer to more effective and personalized cancer treatments.
The recipients are:
🔹 Prof. Irit Ben-Aharon – studying the long-term effects of chemotherapy during pregnancy on offspring
🔹 Dr. Ido Livneh – investigating the cellular "backup systems" that allow cancer cells to survive treatment
🔹 Dr. Shira Landau – developing a groundbreaking heart-and-cancer-on-a-chip model to explore the links between cardiovascular disease and cancer
🔹 Prof. David (Dedi) Meiri – advancing research on a novel cannabis-derived molecule that could improve treatment for estrogen-dependent cancers
🔹 Prof. Tomer Shlomi – using AI, metabolomics, and proteomics to uncover new therapeutic targets for gastrointestinal cancers
Since 1975, ICRF has invested nearly $100 million in Israeli cancer research, helping scientists make discoveries that improve and save lives.
