Our flax is on its way to Mallon to Mizen. 🧵
It is with great pride and love that our flax cordage was posted today for Flax 405.
Thank you to everyone who took part at Central Library, Ardkeen Library and Carrickphierish Library, and to the lovely TY students at Newtown School. And special mention for who so generously backed this project.
This project blossomed into something we couldn't have conceived of. Thank you all for giving your time, however short, to The Three Sisters Women's Shed and this amazing project. Every length you made is now part of a 405km thread running across Ireland. 💚

What a brilliant day! 🌿🧵
It was wonderful to see so many inspiring initiatives all in one place, and we're proud to have been part of it. Proof that you can be sustainable even in craft!
It was also the first outing for our 2026 wall banner. A collaborative group project, but definitely Laura's baby! 👏
A huge thank you to FoodCloud for an amazing lunch, and to the Climate Action Team at Waterford City & County Council for inviting us.
And most of all, thank you to the ladies who turned up. Special welcome to our Fran from Brazil, and to a lovely Ukrainian lady who has only been in Waterford a month. So lovely to have you with us! 💛

As part of our Make Mend Know sewing course we are currently running a community talk with SLÍ (Sustainable Living Initiative) on Tuesday 20th October, 5:30 to 7:30pm, in Ardkeen Library. It's about the real cost of fast fashion and what we can do about it, from repairing and reusing to making the most of the clothes we already own. It's free. Come along, pull up a chair and help us thread a few new ideas together.

What a night. Three Sisters Women's Shed was at the Material World workshop the other evening, and we're still buzzing from it. Three women stood in front of us — each one steeped in her own craft, each one generous enough to unpick her knowledge and hand it over, thread by thread. We came away with new skills and a real sense of how much there still is to learn.
Nights like this are exactly why we keep showing up: to sit at the table, pick up the needle, and let someone else's expertise weave into our own.

Hands dirty and hearts full today 🧵 We wet-felted the hair and faces for the ladies in our logo, and worked the fabric for the water — all coming together on our wall banner. Thanks to everyone who turned up and got stuck in, even when it didn't go perfectly!
