🌱Small actions. Big impact.🌍

This World Environment Day, we’re celebrating the power of small actions.

We’re proud to work with schools, workplaces, communities and families to help people reconnect with food and nature. Growing your own food isn’t just about learning a new skill; it helps us value our natural resources, reduce waste, support biodiversity and make more sustainable choices every day.

The future needs more growers and that’s why our work is focused on empowering people to take simple, meaningful actions, whether that’s in a school garden, a workplace, a community space or at home.

If you’re ready to start growing some of your own food but you don’t know where to start, comment “BEGINNER” and we’ll send you a mix of resources we’ve created with people like you in mind.

🐔Our hens are retiring🐔

To keep our egg supply steady for GROW HQ, we need to make room for a younger flock at the GlY Farm, which means our current girls are ready for their well-earned retirement homes.

These happy hens (who were also stars of Our Farm - A GIY Story) have spent their lives at the GlY Farm in Curraghmore Estate, enjoying organic feed and plenty of outdoor living. They’re Rhode Island Red hybrid layers, now 2 years old - past peak production, but they’ll continue to lay for another 3 - 5 years.

We’re looking for kind homes where they can enjoy a slower pace of life and plenty of care in their retirement.

If you’d like to give some of our girls their forever home, visit our website or send us a message.

Please note:
The personalities in these profiles are inspired by our flock, but we can’t guarantee the exact hens featured will be the ones you take home. After several years together, they’ve become very difficult to tell apart and they refuse to wear name badges. What we can guarantee is that every hen comes with her own unique quirks, plenty of character, and a well-earned desire for a happy retirement.

Did you know that so many aspiring growers never get started because they feel like they don’t know enough?

We believe the best way to start is small - a few herbs, and a couple of quick wins that help build your confidence and keep you going.

You’ll never know everything - even Richard gets caught out once every 10 years or so. Growing your own food is always a learning process, and that’s exactly why GROW Circle exists.

As a member, you’ll get access to practical resources, recipes, planners, growing guides, discounts on courses and events, and answers from experienced growers who understand the challenges because they’ve experienced them too.

GROW Circle is about more than just growing food, it’s about feeling connected to what you grow, wasting less, building confidence and being part of a community that grows together.
