Re our JJ Connolly Memorial family fun day and quiz.
A great night was had at our table quiz and cheque presentation last Friday night, 11th September, in Daltons. Thank you to everyone who came with teams to take part and support and to Susan Connolly for coming to accept her cheque on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society, Bethany House. Congratulations to the winning team, it was a very close call with only a tie breaker separating the two for the top spot!
On behalf of Jacinta, Christine and myself i wish to thank once again everyone connected to the event. Three charities will be the recipient's of the money raised this year which was a fantastic €8910!! Each charity receiving €2970.
Thank you to our main sponsor Mark Behan of Dolmen insurance who was a great friend of JJ, Parkville Utd soccer club who generously allow us to use their facilities every year, Daltons bar and lounge who also generouly allow us to use their premises for our fund raising every year and Beanie Murphy for hosting our successful quiz night in Daltons last Friday evening.
The unsung heroes who volunteer every year to support the field day both in the set up and clean up in the morning and evening.
Those who generously give their time on the field during the day. we couldnt do it without ye.
To the shopkeepers and business's in Tullow and indeed beyond once again you have been brilliant in your support.
A great thank you also to Jim Byrne, DJ Viking, for his music in the field on the day and to Fifth Avenue who provided great entertainment, both free of charge in aid of the charities.
The three charities this year were
1 Bethany House, who assist patients living with alzheimers
2 Talking Heads, who assist stroke victims helping the sufferers to regain their speech
3 Irish Kidney Association, who we donate to every year as JJ donated his organs.
