Paid a visit this evening to St. Paul’s Playground. Wonderful to see how the biodiversity area planted last year has flourished. And to see the work progressing on the new mural. The Circus is coming to town!

Another evening’s work done! Thanks to Jim & Margaret McGuire, Stephen Slattery, Cllr Louise Morgan Walsh, Cllr JP O Meara for the trojan work done this evening in the Castle Garden and of course to Mark Griffin for his ongoing contribution. We are really seeing progress and my two new friends Robin and Blackbird supervised the work and were very impressed! And great to see the apples in abundance on the trees.

Bhí maidin iontach againn inniú don oscailt oifigiúl ag Gaelscoil an Aonaigh den tionscadal álainn a chur rang a sé agus muinteoir Karen le chéile.

We had a wonderful morning this morning at Gaelscoil an Aonaigh for the official opening of the biodiversity project undertaken by the pupils of sixth class under the watchful eye of their teacher, Karen.

This is a credit to you and it was brilliant to see the bees already on location and enjoying the fruits of your labour.

We wish you all well for the future as you leave behind the Gaelscoil and move on to the next step in your education. You have given back to your community and this is very much appreciated.

Comhghairdeas daoibh agus go néiri an bóthar libh! Go raibh maith agaibh.

Progress made this evening - 13 bags of weeds removed. Thanks to those who helped out. Still lots more to be done. We are still looking for helpers. We hope to be out again next week. No particular skills required. If you have an hour to spare at any time talk to us and we will advise what is to be done. The garden is open from 10 to 4 daily. Access outside these hours can be arranged.

Putting out a call for help!

This evening (weather permitting) we are going to do some weeding in the Castle Garden. We will be there from about 5.30 - it you would like to come along and join us entrance will be from the Church side as Castle Field will be closed.

If you have garden tools such as hoes, rakes, etc. these would be welcome but we will have some if needed.

Many hands make light work!

Sincere thanks to the TY Students of St. Joseph's CBS Nenagh for their assistance in the Castle Garden.

On Tuesday a cheque for €200 was presented to Brendan Murphy - Commissioner For Oaths / Peace Commissioner who accepted same on behalf of Pieta House. This was a contribution made by the Tidy Towns Committee on behalf of the boys in recognition and appreciation of their efforts.

Photos show teachers Regina Mulcahy, Laura Young and Miriam Campion, Principal Karen O' Donnell, Deputy Principals Dermot Brislane and Michelle Russell with some of the boys from Transition Year. Also in the photos representing Nenagh Tidy Towns are Nuala Flannery, Martin & Mary Langton, Victoria Nevin, Cllr JP O Meara, Lalor McGee and Rosemary Joyce.
