Today we say a very fond farewell to our much-loved carer, Marie Jacob from our Kilmeague Day Centre. ❤️

Marie has been such a valued member of our team, bringing kindness, warmth, laughter and so much care to our clients and colleagues. She will be greatly missed by everyone at the centre. 🥰

We are so proud of Marie as she leaves us to follow her passion and take the next step in her journey. We wish her every success and happiness for the future — she deserves it! 🌟

🔥☀️ BBQ Fun at Allen & District Day Centre! ☀️🔥
What a fantastic day we had at our summer BBQ here at Allen & District Day Centre ! Our members enjoyed delicious food fresh from the grill, great conversations, plenty of laughter, and the chance to relax together in the sunshine.
It was wonderful to see everyone coming together to enjoy good company, share stories, and make more happy memories. A big thank you to all our staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

🎨✨ Creativity was flowing at the Allen & District Day Centre last week as everyone enjoyed a wonderful arts and crafts session!

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and impressive creations as our talented participants spent time painting, crafting, and expressing their creativity together. Activities like these are a fantastic way to encourage conversation, build friendships, and keep minds active—all while having lots of fun!

Well, the time has come to bid you adieu! Since reopening the Daycare Centre after Covid 19, in 2022 and relocating the service up to our wonderful new premises in Kilmeague earlier this year, the work of the daycare centre has been nothing but a great professional privilege and an even greater personal pleasure. Over the past four years the service has gone from strength to strength, evidenced by the popularity of the centre and the laughter and gratitude of all those you help make this little community what it is. As I move on from the role of Manager I would like to thank so many people- all the great staff here, (You know who they are!!), our Community Employment sponsors', Ballyteague GAA, Fr. Willie Byrne, Happy Feet (Ruby), O' Neill's Buses, and all our Trustus friends and colleague in Dublin. While respecting all professional boundries, it is fair to admit, that friendships have been made!! Thank you to all who come and have come to the centre over the past 4 years. It has been wonderful! We want to say a massive thank you to our clients and their families for supporting us with our Alzheimer's Tea Day event which we held on May 7th 2026. We Raised the Fabulous Amount of €250.00.

Lovely to see our annual local tradition being carried on in our new Centre- decorating the "May Bush" on the 1st May. Even if we don't yet have our own bush this year! A bit of gardening to do this summer! Great banter had around the May Bush.
