Today marks International Childhood Cancer Day 🎗️

A childhood cancer diagnosis can affect the whole family, but you’re not alone. The Irish Cancer Society is here to help.

In 2025, the generous support of the public helped provide -

🟡Over 385 free lifts to bring childhood cancer patients to and from their cancer treatment

🟡Over 75 nights of free Night Nursing care to allow childhood cancer patients to die at home surrounded by loved ones

🟡179 families to avail of the Irish Cancer Society Children’s Fund to help with the cost of a childhood cancer diagnosis

None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity and support of the public on days like Daffodil Day.

Amazing article about one of our new events for this year, Relay For Life Dundalk.
The first ever Relay for Life event in Ireland, took place in 2009 in Dundalk, Co. Louth.

Relay For Life Global Hero of Hope Donna-Marie Cullen 💜

We Won't Stop being there for cancer patients and their families 💛

Donna-Marie faced a rare form of cancer, called Ewing Sarcoma, in 2020. She describes going through cancer during the pandemic as ‘horrific’, particularly as the type of chemo she received was as an inpatient, meaning she spent approximately 1 out of every 3 weeks in the hospital alone, without visitors and away from her family.

She was, however, still able to rely on our support services to help her through. “We got a lot of advice and support from the Irish Cancer Society."
