Today, Moyross Community Enterprise Centre was delighted to host the launch of the Going for Gold initiative.

We were honoured to welcome Mayor John Moran, Helen O Donnell from the JP McManus Foundation, Dr Pat Daly (Director General) of Limerick City and County Council, community representatives, local residents, and partner organisations for the launch.

A massive thank you must go to the children and staff of Corpus Christi Primary School, who delivered a fantastic presentation on their Green Schools initiative. The students spoke proudly about the great work they are doing to help keep Moyross clean, green, and environmentally friendly. Their passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to their community were truly inspiring.

The Going for Gold programme continues to showcase the pride that exists throughout Limerick , and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of this year’s initiative across Limerick city and county.

A fantastic day was had by all as our Friends & Neighbours Group enjoyed a wonderful trip to Ballybunion and its beautiful seaside surroundings.

There were plenty of smiles, great conversations, fresh sea air, and lots of memories made throughout the day. These outings are so important in bringing people together, reducing isolation, and creating opportunities for friendship and connection within our community.

A huge thank you to all of our staff who helped make the day such a success and ensured everyone had an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Well done to everyone involved, and we look forward to many more great days out together 😀

A massive welcome to our Summer Camp Leaders for Summer Camp 2026! ☀️

This year, we are delighted to employ 24 leaders, representing an investment of approximately €80,000 in salaries for local young people within our community.

Our fantastic team will consist of:

* 5 Senior Leaders
* 19 Junior Leaders

Across 7 weeks, our camp will provide 280 (40 a week) places for children aged 7–12 years.

Registration details will be released over the next day or two, so keep an eye on our page for updates.

A huge thank you to the Community Safety Fund and the ESIF Fund through Limerick Regeneration/ Limerick City and County Council for their continued support in making this programme possible.

We can’t wait for another amazing summer! 🌟

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Exciting News for Moyross! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Moyross Community Enterprise Centre are delighted to team up with Back 2 Boston Project in an exciting new partnership focused on health, fitness, community spirit, and opportunity.

We are proud to announce that we will be hosting the Moyross 5K this September! The event will start and finish at the Community Centre, taking participants along the Northern Distributor Road for what promises to be a fantastic day for runners, walkers, families, and supporters alike.

As part of this partnership, we are also thrilled to share that we have secured a place for Glynn O Dwyer in the Dublin Marathon this year, a huge achievement and an exciting milestone on the journey ahead.

We are also delighted that Glynn will receive expert coaching and guidance from John Kinsella, which will fully prepare him for the challenge ahead as he begins his marathon journey.

Ultimately, our long-term goal is simple but powerful:
to one day have someone from Moyross standing on the start line of the Boston Marathon 🇮🇪➡️🇺🇸

A big thank you to John and Ava for calling in to us today, we really appreciate the support and look forward to building something special together.

We are very grateful for the ESIF funding which makes these collaboration’s possible.
