Community doing what community does best 🧡🎃

Templeglantine Parents Association turned a local Halloween party into real support for families staying with us at the House.

In the photo are Dan and Edel Sexton with their daughter Katie. The Sexton family stayed with us for 24 days in 2025, which makes this one extra special 💛 Seeing their own community step up means more than words can say.

The Parents Association would like to give a mention to Templeglantine Community Development and Templeglantine Tidy Towns .
Day in day out, the Tidy Towns members always have the village looking great, through all of their hard work. Their pride in their community is very evident.
The community development committee have taken on a huge project, which has been going on for the past number of years.
One part of this project is the new car park to the rear of the school.
We're sure if any parent is asked, they will say what an asset to the community this car park is. The children have access from the carpark to the school grounds and it makes morning drop-off and evening pick-up so much faster AND safer.
It was also very beneficial yesterday. With all of the traffic coming to the school for the Fun Day, it was great to be able to accommodate everyone.

A huge well done to all involved 👏

Where do we begin?
There just aren't enough words to convey how delighted we were with the support we got today.
On a wet and dreary day like today, the people of Templeglantine and surrounding areas came out in large numbers to attend our Fun Day.
Amongst them were counciller Liam Galvin and counciller Frances Foley.
Thank you all so very much.
Our stall holders- Dymem Pachnące , Bramble Hill Crafts AbbeyGifts iLanga_Candles by Fortunate and Noreen Crochet knits and bits, Melanie and Siún and Aoibhinn bracelets- thank you all for braving the weather. Your attendance really added to the occasion.
Shannon Ices were in attendance again this year and made a generous donation.
Our amazing fire crew members from Abbeyfeale Fire Service always show up for the Fun Day and are always a real hit with the children.
John Kelly did a superb job as always on the barbecue, aided this year by the fabulous Keely, Austin and Keely.
Róisín Doody and Nora Duggan did a super job with the facepainting.
Our amazing coaches- Olive Sheehan, Decaln Brosnahan and Chris McCarthy, what great sports 👏😀. I think everyone enjoyed watching you get soaked.
We also got great help from people in setting up and tidying up afterwards - Mary Murphy, Dermot Odonnell, Jim Barrett and Elaine O'Shea. Thank you all.
The dynamic duo of Celina Hannon and Joe McAuliffe were involved in every aspect.
I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

The generosity of people really does leave us stunned on a regular basis.
Raymond from Dymem Pachnące had a stall today at our Fun Day, where they were giving out samples of smoked meats. It's a newly set up business and they came along today to promote it.
They have just donated all the money they collected to the Parents Association..
