Stella Maris Centre The Kilmore Quay Community Development Association Ltd was formed in 1985 to provide a focal point for development and promotion of the area.

The following projects are a testament to progress, which has taken place under the stewardship of the Association.

• Purchase of 104 acres of Ballyteige Burrow as an Amenity area for locals and visitors.
• Purchase of lands for Community & Visitor Activities including coastal path.
• Tennis Courts and Football Pitches.
• Er****on of the Stella Maris Centre.
• Development of Children’s Playground

• Development of Promenade on the seafront.
• Development of Boardwalk on the Ballyteige Burrow.
• Development of Car Park facilities to service Ballyteige Burrow.
• Provision of Street Lighting.
• Provision of Public Seating and Flower Boxes. These projects present a very strong visible sign of local commitment to the improvement of our area. All these projects were funded fully or partially through funds, which are raised annually through the Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival, which has been in existence since 1986. The 2018 Annual Seafood Festival will be our 33rd consecutive Festival. New Projects in the pipeline are:

• Phase two of the Promenade.
• Development of the Tourist Centre in the Stella Maris Centre.
• Upgrading of the Memorial Garden including walkway between the Promenade and the Boardwalk on the Ballyteige Burrow. These proposed projects are a natural progression towards the realisation of our Tourism Strategy, which started in 1985 through the foresight of the founders. The projects are a good example of public / private partnership. The association has collaborated with a number of public bodies to fund some of the above projects. This represents an extraordinary achievement of voluntary effort, participation and the commitment over the 25 Years. It has been underpinned by the enthusiasm and energy of committee members and volunteers, the willing support of local residents, voluntary groups and businesses from the locality and beyond. We also enjoy the support of our local authority and many other agencies. The Kilmore Quay Community Development Association Ltd is principally engaged in the promotion of the economic, educational, cultural and tourism activities in Kilmore Quay and its immediate environs. The Association operates from the Stella Maris Community Centre where coordinates and a number of community based activities for visitors and locals alike and include:

• Junior and Senior Youth clubs.

• Kids Art Classes.

• Mothers & Toddlers Group.

• Computer I.T. Centre.

• Coffee Shop.

• Meals on wheels.

• Sunshine Club for Elderly.

• ICA Group.

• Tops Group.

• Yoga and Keep Fit Club.

• Bingo.

• Hairdressing.

• Beauty Therapy.

• Annual Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival.

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who kept us hopping all week — we honestly appreciate every single one of ye coming through the doors and keeping the Stella Maris buzzing! ❤️
The Lamb Shank and the Double Smash Burger were the clear winners this week… sure they nearly walked out , ye legends. ❤️
And tomorrow we go again — OPEN FROM 9AM ☕🍳
