All are welcome to join us at the pitch tomorrow morning for the Coughlan Cup. We will have a bake sale in the stand on the day with proceeds going to the annual year end juvenile trip. All baked goods and support greatly appreciated. We expect some exciting football on the day so well worth coming down to support the Castledaly U10s. 🟡🟢

Our Player Development Programme continues to go from strength to strength. This week, the lads focused on transition play and creating scoring opportunities, putting their skills and teamwork into practice.

Brilliant effort from all the players and coaches involved. Keep up the great work, lads! 👏🏐

It is with great sadness Castledaly GAA learned of the sad passing of our friend , neighbour, and great supporter John Joe Larkin.
John Joe is fondly remembered as a passionate supporter of GAA at club and county level and travelled both near and far to do so. John Joe was also an accomplished player with Castledaly, playing Under 21 and Junior football with Castledaly GAA club in his favoured position of wing forward.
He is described as a fast, tenacious player with a sweet foot.
He also won a Minor Championship with neighbouring Moate All Whites in 1974 at corner back.
A well read wise and witty companion in conversation, he was knowledgeable and spoke with thoughtful consideration, weaved with his fun sense of humour.
He will be missed and remembered through his family, hos many many friends, former work colleagues, good neighbours, and tales they shared together.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis.

John Joe Larkin; Boyanna, Castledaly, Moate, Co. Westmeath. August 27th 2026. Peacefully at home after a short illness. Predeceased by his parents Kitty & Jim brother and sister. Sadly missed by his cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May John Joe Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Flynn’s Funeral Home Moate this Friday(28th) from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Removal on Saturday(29th) to St Ciaran’s Church, Castledaly arriving for 12noon Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Kilcleagh, Cemetery, Castledaly.
