KCRU can only function with the support of our more than 50 active volunteers in our 5 area teams.

Volunteers undergo significant introductory & ongoing training supported through internal KCRU instructors, external training providers and the National Ambulance Service (NAS).

They are also equipped with uniform, response bags & AED's to assist in responding to a range of emergency incidents across a wide area.

Last week marked National Volunteer Week, we mark volunteer week every week as the commitment of our volunteer team in training, attending incidents, community engagement & supporting other CFR schemes and community groups is core to being a volunteer within KCRU.

Thank you to everyone who supported our church gate collections for our Beaufort, Rathmore & Kenmare based teams.

Large numbers of our volunteers assisted in glorious weather.

It takes a community to save a life, it takes the community to fund our service.

Did you know that public access AED's (defibrillator's) are located across many areas of county Kerry and indeed nationally.

These AED's are not generally utilised by our responders as we have over many years increased our equipment, with large numbers of our team now allocated AED's as part of comprehensive response bags.

The public access AED's are available for the public, largely on a 24/7 basis and KCRU continue to assist with monitoring and guidance to those communities who place public access AED's

In the event of an emergency, knowing where your nearest AED is located and how to open a cabinet can make all the difference.

Your nearest AED is the best AED to provide the best chances of survival to a patient in cardiac arrest..
