We were delighted to have Conan and Pat from the Midlands Mink Eradication Project pay us a visit tonight.

They spoke about the pilot project in the Lough Ree area and the Breeding Waders EIP Project and gave plenty of advice and fieldcraft tips and tricks regarding trap placement and the best time of year to trap.

This collaborative approach between the National Association of Regional Game Councils (NARGC) and the NPWS is vital if we want to protect our vulnerable ground nesting species.

At the end of tonight's meeting there was a draw for all in attendance. 1st prize was a mink raft and 3 other attendees went home with a new mink trap each.

Hopefully the winners will soon be successful with their new gear.
