Have you ever wondered how local issues in Leitrim are connected to what's happening around the world?
Join Leitrim PPN for an engaging and interactive evening exploring Global Citizenship Education and discover how communities can make a real difference by understanding the bigger picture.
During this workshop you'll explore:
✅ Active Citizenship
✅ Problem Solving
✅ Systems Thinking
✅ Critical Thinking
Together we'll look at:
🌱 Why the challenges facing Leitrim and Ireland are linked to global issues.
🌱 How understanding the root causes of community issues can help us create stronger, long-term solutions.
🌱 Interactive activities that challenge our thinking, uncover our blind spots and encourage fresh perspectives.
🌱 The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they connect with the work of PPN member groups.
💬 This isn't just a presentation—it's an opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and gain practical tools that can strengthen the work your group is already doing.
The workshop will be facilitated by Gareth Conlon from Development Perspectives Saolta

Is an inclusive disco for you? Would you like to see one in your area?

IWA members have attended four Inclusive Discos over the past couple of years, with the most recent one attracting around 80 attendees in total.

The atmosphere at these discos is electric – young people with disabilities get to socialise, dance, enjoy music and make friends in a comfortable environment.

This dynamic, one-day community festival celebrates the rich history, vibrant arts, and living traditions of the Irish Traveller community through live music, dance, storytelling, and craft. The event is an opportunity for everyone in the community to experience the richness of Traveller heritage and culture. 🌿 Discover Fowley’s Falls, County Leitrim 💧

Looking for a peaceful walk surrounded by nature? Fowley’s Falls is a beautiful hidden gem located near the The Organic Centre in Rossinver, North Leitrim. The scenic trail follows the river through woodland, leading to the stunning waterfall and offering a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the local landscape.

The trail is 3 km and is suitable for a relaxing walk at your own pace. After or during your walk, why not call into The Organic Centre nearby and enjoy a well-earned coffee? ☕🌱

Leitrim Development Company oversees the management of the trail in partnership with the local Trail Management Organisation, helping to ensure that this special route can be enjoyed by visitors and the local community.

The weekly walk is open to all, contact Thelma 0899658006, starting at 1pm every Tuesday from the Fowleys Falls carpark.

As you explore, please help us protect this beautiful area:

💩 Please clean up after your dog and take all waste home

We had a fabulous evening on Friday last with Drumshanbo Men's Shed in their garden on the banks of Lough Allen for our final evening of Leitrim Community Garden Week.

A huge thank you to the inimitable Tina Pommer for her fantastic talk on foraging, to the Men's Shed for music and food, and all who turned out for a brilliant evening to round off our week.
