Looking back on a very successful Hands-on Heritage event at Benchspace last month. Being our first Heritage Week event, we’re absolutely delighted with the enthusiasm we saw for learning traditional crafts.

We ran 18 craft classes over two week with 126 people attending over all.

Among all the positive feedback we received, we were most thrilled to learn that 100% of attendees will seek out more traditional craft experiences – a wonderful result considering this year’s Heritage Week theme ‘heritage at risk’.

A huge thank you to the Heritage Council for helping us make heritage crafts accessible, and a special thanks and acknowledgement to our expert tutors who keep these skills and knowledge alive.
