Some lovely children came to check out our Cat sculpture which was made from recycled toys as part of . Made by the talented artist Remzi with donations from local schools, charity shops and Carrickmacross Toy Library. Thanks to Carrickmacross Workhouse for giving us the space. The cat will hopefully be visiting local schools in the next few weeks to raise awareness.

♻️ A Day of Learning, Sharing & Community Connection at Carrickmacross Toy Library! 🧸💚

We were delighted to welcome participants to Carrickmacross Toy Library today, Tuesday, 13th October, as part of the Circular Economy for Community Resilience Pilot Programme in association with Community Resources Network Ireland CRNI & NIRN - Northern Ireland Resources Network

The visit was a fantastic opportunity to share our experience, showcase the work of Carrickmacross Toy Library, and explore how circular economy principles can strengthen communities through sharing, reuse and collaboration.

Throughout the day, participants took part in discussions, Q&A sessions, paired data gathering and action planning, exchanging ideas and learning from one another. We were also delighted to hear from Spraoi agus Sport, whose work offered further inspiration for community-led initiatives.

At Carrickmacross Toy Library, we believe that sharing resources, reducing waste and making play more accessible can make a real difference to families and our wider community. It was wonderful to connect with others who share this vision and are working towards more sustainable, resilient communities. 🌍🤝

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed their ideas and made the day such a valuable experience. We look forward to seeing how these conversations develop into positive action in communities across Ireland!

Together, we can make the circular economy work for our communities. 💚
