Each year in May, locations all over Ireland (and abroad) host a 5km walk which takes place in the early hours of a Saturday morning. The reason for the early start (4.15am) is because the theme of the walk is Darkness into Light and it is timed so that the walkers reach the end point just as the dawn begins. The purpose of the walk is to raise valuable funds for the Pieta House Su***de and Self H

arm Crisis Centre, but it is also a chance to remember all those loved ones that we have lost through su***de, and remind us that no matter what, there is always hope.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who turned out this morning to walk together from darkness into light. The atmosphere was incredible filled with kindness, support, hope and community spirit.

Together we support one another, walk side by side, and shine a light of hope💛

As the sun rises, we walk together in hope, remembrance, and support for those affected by su***de and self-harm. Every step helps raise awareness and reminds people that they are not alone

We’re so inspired to see our local secondary schools coming together to support Darkness Into Light and the incredible work of Pieta. Students, teachers, and local communities standing side by side, showing that even the smallest steps can bring hope, connection, and light.
