Monaghan County Council is asking people to share their views to help shape a new five-year Disability Strategy.
Monaghan County Council aim to make County Monaghan more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. We are inviting people with disabilities, family members, carers, disability organisations, and anyone with an interest in disability inclusion to take part in this consultation.
Your feedback will help improve services, public spaces, housing, libraries, and community programmes over the next five years.

The survey can also be provided in a range of accessible formats, including:

• Large Print
• Paper copy
• Alternative language formats

📢Coming Soon......New Heroes Plus group in County Monaghan 📢

We’re beginning a new Heroes PLUS Plus group in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan!

Heroes PLUS is a nine-month project that supports young people:
⭐aged from 14-24 years
⭐who are facing barriers to education and/or
⭐have a learning disability/difficulty and/or autism.

The initiative helps them meet new people, socialise, participate in excursions, learn new skills and more.

Interested? This project is COMING SOON and will take place on
🕰Tuesdays, from 6pm – 9pm
at:
📍Magheracloone Community Centre CLG, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan

Please note: we do not require our participants to have a social worker, be statemented or have a formal diagnosis of any kind.

Congratulations to SMART: South Monaghan Autism Resource Team, our Volunteer Group of the Year! 👏

SMART: South Monaghan Autism Resource Team was established in 2022, following on from the original MAPS group set up by local parents in 2013. SMART now supports more than 50 families, with children and young people aged from 3 to 21. Organising camps, swimming sessions, music therapy, and an invaluable parent support network, SMART acts as a vital one-stop shop for advice and community, giving a huge boost to parents.

Congratulations to everyone involved with SMART on this well-deserved award! ❤️
