7th Tipperary Cahir Scout Group

7th Tipperary Cahir Scout Group The 7th Tipperary Scout Group was established in 1932. The den was subsequently demolished and the 7th Tipperary Scout Group was left homeless.

The original Scout Den was built and opened in 1982, however disaster struck in 2001 when our Scout Den had to be demolished after a boundary wall collapsed on it, rendering it unsafe for use. The Scout Group has had a number of stop gap homes since the demolition of the old den which have been wholly unsuitable for the activities of our group. We have been campaigning and fundraising hard ever si

nce, in the hope of being able to build a modern den, purpose built to suit our activities as well as for the other like-minded organisations within the area and a host of other local clubs and Scouting Groups from all over the world.

Beavers were on summer camp last weekend at Burncourt Scout Campsite 🏕️

They arrived Saturday Morning, pitched their own tents, made their own sandwiches, participated in Beaver Survivor Challenge, played a ton of games and had a campfire on Saturday night.

They were up bright and early on Sunday morning and headed into the woods to build dens and race sticks in the river. Throughout the weekend the Beavers washed up after themselves and were in charge of keeping their tents tidy

Well done to all our Beavers who camped at the weekend!

Massive thank you to our Venture Scouts who helped run Beaver Camp!

Scouts and Ventures joined Beavers and Cubs at summer camp this weekend where we presented Venture Patrol Badges, Crean Adventure Badges, Scout Link Up, Venture Holiday Badges and for helping with Beavers they all received Beaver Survivor Badges

Incredibly proud to present this years Scout of the Year to Patrol Leader Ethan Dempsey. Ethan represents exactly what Scouts is all about, he is always eager and willing to learn new skills while also sharing his knowledge with not just younger scouts but younger sections as well. As Patrol Leader we ask a lot of Ethan, he completes every challenge with a smile on his face and we are very grateful to have a Scout like Ethan in our Group

Congratulations to to two of our Ventures Scouts Róise Curtin and Mikaela Dempsey on achieving their Chief Scout Award and Bronze Gaisce Award. They both travelled to Dublin recently with their families and leaders to receive their awards from the Chief Scout of Ireland Eoin Callanan and Avril Ryan CEO of Gaisce

Róise and Mikaela have worked incredibly hard over the last year earning this award.
Róise spent time volunteering with our Beaver Section, helping our local Tidy Towns group for her environmental project, improved her art skills and knowledge along with progressing in her Lifesaving Lessons

Mikaela took on an environmental project to learn how we can all reduce fabric waste, she learned how to create items using old clothes and recycled materials, volunteered with both Cahir Bingo and Friends of the Playground, continued to improve her dancing through lessons and learned all about the gym while improving her personal best in weightlifting.

The group are extremely proud of the girls and they become our 26th & 27th Chief Scout Recipients.
