7th Tipperary Cahir Scout Group The 7th Tipperary Scout Group was established in 1932. The den was subsequently demolished and the 7th Tipperary Scout Group was left homeless.

The original Scout Den was built and opened in 1982, however disaster struck in 2001 when our Scout Den had to be demolished after a boundary wall collapsed on it, rendering it unsafe for use. The Scout Group has had a number of stop gap homes since the demolition of the old den which have been wholly unsuitable for the activities of our group. We have been campaigning and fundraising hard ever since, in the hope of being able to build a modern den, purpose built to suit our activities as well as for the other like-minded organisations within the area and a host of other local clubs and Scouting Groups from all over the world.

Beavers were out hiking this morning in Scarragh Woods!!

They hiked into the woods, practised lighting fires with flint & steel, used our trangias for the first time, ate sausages and made s’mores 🥾🏕️🔥

Congratulations to our Beaver Scout John who completed his Chief Scout Award this year!

Beaver Chief Scout Award is the highest badge a Beaver Scout can earn throughout their time in the section. John achieved the adventure skill levels, special interest badges, expedition and camp he needed to earn the award and we are incredibly proud to have presented him with his award at our summer camp this year

Beavers finished up for the summer on Monday night with a trip to the playground thanks to Friends of The Playground Cahir for the use of the facility and some ice cream in the sun 🌞 🍦

End of year badges were given out and our Conn Beavers received their Beaver Certificates and Beaver Scrapbooks with pictures of their last three years of Beavers

We also presented our Ventures with their Hilwalking badges and decorative neckerchiefs

They achieved Silver Standard overall and also received a special mention for their food from the overall leaders. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Last weekend, the Cubs had their summer camp in Burncourt, where they were joined by the Ventures, Scouts and Beavers.
They spent the weekend camping, playing games, building their skills and singing campfire songs together. A fantastic few days filled with fun 🏕️☀️
