𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜

As we mark one year since the opening of the playground, Ballymote Community Council are launching a fundraising initiative to help fund ongoing maintenance costs and the installation of a new gate for the playground.

Since the playground opened, Ballymote Community Council continued to apply for small-scale grants, towards maintenance and improvements, ensuring this facility remains safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Some of the projects supported by grants over the last year include:

The installation of outdoor activity chalkboards, mirror trees, and affirmations outdoor signs (fully funded under the SICAP Small Grants Scheme)

Partial funding from the Community & Voluntary Grant scheme, towards playground maintenance works. Fundraising was also carried out through a bake sale at the St Patrick’s Day parade.

We expect an outcome in June for a grant application under the Local Enhancement Programme for a half-gate to be installed at the Playground entrance.

We have now completed maintenance works (Multi unit remediation, fence painting, tarmac resurfacing, weeding, algae removal, new flowers planted) for the summer.

This fundraising initiative will help to continue the maintenance and improvement plan for this important community facility. Please support in any way that you can.

Can you spare an hour this evening?

Our maintenance works are almost completed with the outstanding job being the painting of a number of fence panels at the back of the Playground site.

We expect to start around 6 o’clock with the aim of completing this evening given the expected turn in the weather for the coming week. If you can help, drop us a DM.

We have received word this morning that the slide on the mound is hot. We would ask that parents/guardians take precautions and bear this in mind during the warm weather please.

Our thanks to all who supported our Bake Sale at the St. Patrick's Day Parade yesterday. We raised €310.15 which will be put towards the upcoming maintenance works ahead of the summer season.
