We are thrilled to announce that Ballymote has been officially nominated for the prestigious 2026 IPB Pride of Place Awards! This nomination is a testament to the incredible hard work, spirit, and dedication of our local volunteers, businesses, and residents.
The national judges will be visiting Ballymote this Friday, 28th August, for an official tour of our town. This is our moment to shine, and we need your help to show them what makes our community so special.

We would greatly appreciate your attendance at this free event to help us showcase the very best of Ballymote. Let’s pack the Art Deco and show the judges why our town deserves to win!

Well done to Zain Clancy who ran in last Saturdays keash King of the Hill 5k where he placed 3rd overall and then ran the Enniscrone 5k and placed 2nd overall a few days later 👏👏 fantastic results for this hardworking Corran AC athlete 👏🎉

National Senior Championships took place last weekend at Morton stadium.
Club member Ben Clavin was our sole competitor who ran in heat 3 of the 800m. With only one qualifier from each heat that would make a final it was a big challenge.
Ben raced strong in the initial 400m sitting behind the leader Bobby More.
He finished 3rd in a time of 1.54 which unfortunately wasn't fast enough to qualify for the final.
This wraps up the Outdoor track season for Ben who will enjoy a well deserved rest for a few weeks. 👏👏👏

The juvenile club track and field season concluded on Saturday last with the National Combined Events Championships in Morton Stadium in Santry. A busy few hours of Pentathlon competition with athletes taking in the sprint hurdles, long jump, shot put, high jump and 800m.

A massive congratulations to Ruby Cunnane who showcased her athleticism across the disciplines and earned herself a silver medal in her age group 👏👏 adding another national medal to her growing collection🎉🎉

A very well done also to Oisin Oogan with a strong competition over the multi events earning himself a top 10 position at national level👏👏

Best of luck to Corran AC’s Ben Clavin who competes today in the AAI games at the same venue competing over 800m in the senior men’s race ☘️☘️
