Happy Easter to all our wonderful service users, and to our amazing teams and volunteers 🐣🌸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Easter dinner — it was such a fun and joyful day, filled with great company and smiles all around.

And a massive thank you to the Easter Bunny who visited us again this year — you brought so much joy to everyone 🐰💛

May the spirit of Easter bring warmth, hope, and happiness to you all. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the centre next Tuesday 💛

It was a privilege to welcome the Minister for State for Older People and Housing Kieran O'Donnell T.D. and my Oireachtas colleague Colm Burke TD to Ballincollig this afternoon to visit Westgate Foundation to see the fantastic work being done by the wonderful staff team and board, led by Julie Murphy (C.E.O.) and Paddy McCarthy (Chairperson). It was also great to meet with senior representatives of the HSE South-West, who work closely with Julie, Paddy and the Westgate team.

Our community is immensely proud of Westgate and of all of the fantastic work it does from its provision and management of sheltered housing to its DayCare service, social activities, meals on wheels, transport and its Seniors Alert Scheme, all of which provide immeasurable support, camaraderie and comfort to older people throughout Ballincollig and the surrounding areas.

Westgate Foundation was delighted and honoured to welcome the Minister for State for Older People and Housing Kieran O'Donnell T.D to Westgate on Tuesday, March 31st. The Minister was accompanied by Senator Garret Kelleher, Deputy Colm Burke TD and HSE representatives.

The Minister met with Westgate Daycare clients, social group members, residents and with Board and staff members of Westgate Foundation. The Minister emphasised the importance of community and home based services for older people. He commended all in Westgate for the services being provided to support older people to continue to enjoy living at home and in their own community.

Catering and General Duties Assistant (Temporary Relief Position – Initial 12 months contract)

The key focus of this role is to assist the Catering Manager and Catering Team in the day to day operation of Westgate Foundation Catering Department. The post holder may also be required to provide support to wider organisational tasks including: admin, cleaning/hygiene and reception.

This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a catering related environment is desirable.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on Thursday April 3rd. Interested applicants are asked to submit a CV and letter of application to The CEO, Westgate Foundation, West Village, Ballincollig, Co. Cork or by email to [email protected].

What an amazing two days in the communities of Ballincollig and Bishopstown! We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of everyone who came out to support our street collections. Your support means so much, and we cannot thank you enough.

Because of you, we can continue our work providing vital services to the ageing population across our catchment areas.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to our incredible Westgate volunteers and TY students from Ballincollig Community School, Bishopstown Community School, Coláiste Choilm and Le Chéile secondary school who gave their time and energy to make these collections such a success. 🌟 Street Collections Happening Thursday and Friday! 🌟

Our amazing Westgate teams, along with dedicated TY students, will be out and about in the coming days for our street collections. Every contribution helps us continue to deliver our much needed community services that support our ageing population across our communities.

We’re incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity shown each year to our centre. Your support truly makes a difference and helps us keep these vital services going.
