Disappointing to see after all the efforts for a new footpath and bollards that some brazen people are insistent on parking here, and even that another car joined them by 12.45 while the P4 car park was nearly empty!

I took these photos while trying to walk with 2 young children after training, and multiple parents forced to push buggies on the road.

Is there any consequence? Cllr Colm KelleherCllr. Joe Lynch Ballincollig GAA Club

A reminder that an open day session in respect of Transport Infrastructure Ireland's plans for a Cork Luas will take today - Tuesday, 12th May from 12noon to 8pm - in the Carraig Centre

TII personnel will be in attendance, and I would encourage as many people as possible to attend

There are a number of serious issues for Ballincollig arising from the proposed route; most notably TII's plan to utilise Station Road for light rail traffic, which will - in my view - bring mayhem to the village

Residents should also make submissions setting out their views using the details provided on the Cork Luas website: www.luascork.ie

We're delighted to see these safety measures installed recently at the Innishmore entrance to the Regional Park and also on the road next to the GAA club.
Illegal parking in both areas had long been causing safety issues but new footpaths and bollards will now ensure safe access for pedestrians young and old at both locations. Well done Cork City Council !

We were delighted to walk, cycle and unicycle (!) in Ballincollig’s St. Patrick’s Day parade!

It was a lot of fun coming together with the rest of the community, and massive crowds that came out to celebrate.

Up the Village!

What a great initiative: mixing exercise and heritage.

BST has made a submission in support of reducing speed limits in the interest of the whole community - other drivers, pedestrians, cyclists.

🚗Cork City Council is starting Phase 2 of the proposed speed limit changes, the implementation of built-up and urban area speed limits.

This phase proposes to introduce further 30km/h speed limits as follows;
➡All housing estate roads
➡Residential streets
➡Roads adjacent to schools
➡Roads in the urban area where there is significant and regular interaction with vulnerable road users

Cork City Council now seeks to collect the views of the public and stakeholders regarding speed limits on public roads in built-up and urban areas of Cork City.
Submissions can be made two ways:

🖱Online via: https://consult.corkcity.ie/

📝In writing addressing: Senior Executive Engineer, Traffic Regulation & Safety Section, Room 339, City Hall, Cork, T12 T997.

🗓Closing date: February 13
