Almost a week on from our fundraising table quiz for our services. Thank you to everyone for your support. We were thrilled this year again with the wonderful support we got. We had a total of 42 tables for the quiz, which was amazing. Congrats to the winning table of Aileen Daly, Hannah Daly, Pat Loughnane & Mark Dunne. Thanks to Pat Sullivan for his role of quiz master on the night. Thank you to those that couldn't come but bought raffle tickets or made a donation. Thank you to our sponsors of spot prizes for the raffle. Thank you to Stephen Kerr, Jenny Sulivan, our staff Mary, Roiseen & Joanie, with the help of Valerie Seale & Debra Grennan who kept things running smoothly all night. Thanks to Gullanes Hotel for the use of the ballroom for the night. All your support helped raise a total of €3,551. We are truly grateful to you all. !!!

📚 A Cradle of Hurling – Stories from Southeast Galway

What a wonderful celebration of our local history, our communities and our great hurling and camogie tradition.

47 different local writers have contributed short stories about life, hurling and camogie in East Galway from 1869 right through to 2026 — bringing together more than 150 years of stories, memories, characters and sporting history.

The book will be officially launched by Jarlath Burns:

đź“… 29th October
🕢 7.30pm
📍 Gullane’s Hotel, Ballinasloe

And best of all, all proceeds from the book will go to Ballinasloe Social Services, supporting the invaluable work they do in our community.

A lovely local project and a very worthy cause. All are welcome. 🏑📖
