The official opening of The O'Brien Stand is taking place in Kiltormer on Sunday next, 31st May.

The stand was erected in memory of one of our greatest supporters, Padraic O'Brien, by his loving wife Una.

There will be some underage games taking place from 11am, followed by a blessing of the stand by Fr. Michael Kilkenny and Fr. Anthony Kelly at 12noon before the grand opening by Una O'Brien.

A junior hurling challenge between Kiltormer and St Rynaghs, Banagher will then throw in at 12.30pm.

There will be refreshements in the Complex afterwards where the U20 All Ireland Hurling final between Galway and Clare will be televised.

Everyone in Kiltormer GAA is extremely grateful to Una for her most generous donations towards the cost of the stand, a fantastic addition to our grounds that will benefit the club for years to come. It would be great to show all our appreciation with a big crowd on Sunday.

The Kiltormer CĂčl Camp is taking place on the week of the 13th July, with bookings opening from Wednesday, 20th May. Full details on poster attached.

Also, just a quick heads up to inform you when you are booking in for CĂșl Camps, the gear this year is reportedly running a bit smaller than last year, so it may be an idea to order a size up if you wish!

On behalf of the Pitch Development Committee, we just want to express our huge thanks and appreciation to everyone who was involved in yesterday's 10km fundraising walk. The fundraiser was an overwhelming success, and yesterday was just a fantastic day for everyone involved in both Kiltormer GAA and Camogie clubs, and the wider communities of Laurencetown, Clontuskert and Kiltormer.

We are in the process of gathering all the photos taken throughout the day and will share them along with doing a full recap of the event, later in the week.

Well done again to everyone, Cill TormĂłir AbĂș!

We had a few early starters out of the blocks today for the 10km fundraising walk, with Sean Jennings and Darragh & Maisie Glynn testing tomorrow's route. Luckily for the two lads, Maisie was on hand to keep them disciplined and made sure they completed the full walk! Also well done to Brid Claffey who is down in Australia and ran the 10km, fair play Brid!

There are some showers promised tomorrow, but as of now, the forecast is predicting a dry spell between 12noon and 2pm, if anyone has a Child of Prague handy, feel free to put it out tonight!

We would encourage everyone to wear Kiltormer gear and let's have plenty of blue and white on show.

It will be a prompt start at 12noon in Laurencetown, with plenty to look forward to back in Kiltormer Complex at the finish.

Looking forward to a great day for the whole community tomorrow.

Cill TormĂłir AbĂș!

10km FUNDRAISING WALK UPDATE...

After a couple of hours walking on Sunday afternoon, we hope everyone will have a hunger and thirst built up!

Bistro 18 from Ballinasloe will be on hand with a BBQ from 2pm back in the Kiltormer Complex to help people refuel, while there will be plenty of other refreshements available (tea, coffee, sandwiches, etc). along with some goodies bags and ice creams for the boys and girls!

DJ Aidan Laffey will be banging out the tunes and keeping us all energised, both at the start in Laurencetown and back in Kiltormer at the finish line.

Finally, so everyone is aware, there will be a shuttle bus in Kiltormer after the walk, to bring anyone who parked their car in Laurencetown back to collect it. The bus will also be following the walkers, just in case anyone needs to take a break along the way!! And for families with young kids who might not fancy taking on the full 10km, you are more than welcome to join in and finish anywhere closer to Kiltormer Village.
