Nicole Rabbitte, 24 from Moate who is working in Rehabcare Day service supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
She has graduated TUS Midlands in 2024 with a level 8 in Professional Social Care Practice. From there Nicole’s work has been her passion!
Nicole enjoys Irish culture (set dancing, trad music/singing), time with family, reading and spending time walking in nature.

Athlone day service has had two big birthdays celebrated in the month of May! 💛 Big birthday wishes to Mary who turned 50 and Francis who turned 60! 🤩 here’s to many more celebrations to happen in the service! ✨

Tracey has just finished a work placement in a local charity shop and was rewarded for her efforts with a Dunnes Stores gift card.

Thank you to Darkness into Light Athlone and Athlone Regional Sports Centre for hosting the walk and ensuring everything ran smoothly! 🤩
This morning was a very powerful one which the Amber flag committee is very grateful for experiencing 💛🕯️🌅

The Advocacy team had a day out yesterday to the Curragh Racecourse for the Disability show 2026! 🌟
A great day was had by all being able to see different stalls and companies whose goals are to empower people with disabilities! 🤩

🌟 Mental health awareness day was held in Athlone Day service by the Amber flag committee! 🌟
The day was back to back with different activities ranging from morning meditation, a mental health talk, a festival in a van, to healthy eating options and t’ai chi with some art and games also included! 🤩
Well done to everyone involved and thank you to our guests that helped make the day happen! 💛

The Rehabcare National Advocacy Conference was held last Thursday in the Gibson hotel! 🌟 two delegates from Athlone day service attended. 💛 congratulations to Frances on making the national advocacy team! 🎉

We were delighted to be invited to attend a 4 week art class in the Technology University of the Shannon -TUS hosted by their Social Care students. The group engaged in a variety of different types of art & creativity and really enjoyed the experience 🎨 Thank you to the students and their lecturer Denise for having us and we look forward to more opportunities in the future 😃
