The Army Band of 2nd Brigade, based in Athlone, will once again provide the main musical support for the 35th Annual Gala Samaritans Christmas Concert which will take place in the Church of Ss Peter and Paul on Thursday, December 11, at 8pm.

We’re proud to announce that the second beneficiary of this year’s John McGowan 12 Hour Challenge, hosted by Athlone Triathlon Club, is the Athlone & Midlands Samaritans. 💚

The Samaritans are there 24/7, 365 days a year, offering a safe, confidential space for anyone who is struggling to cope or needs someone to talk to. Their volunteers give their time, compassion, and care to support people through their most difficult moments.

We are honoured to stand with such a vital service in our community as we take on 12 hours of endurance in John’s memory. Every step and pedal will help raise awareness and support their life-saving work.
