Busy evening crafting under the tarps for the Beavers! Lots of friendship bracelets, necker tags and wood cookies decorated 🎨

As always, peeling sticks was the most popular activity in the Backwoods as Beavers thoroughly enjoy crafting and being as creative as they can be! πŸͺ΅

Having the Backwoods is a great benefit for Beavers who thrive outdoors and get to build their confidence with risk taking, exploring and teamwork! 🌳

Change of scenery for the Beavers this evening 🎬
After roll call, Beavers chose to partake in making their own nature bands for Biodiversity Week for the walk to the local playground πŸ› After all the rain, there was lots of greenery to choose from to decorate their wrists!
We had lots of interesting flowers, grasses and trees to see 🌺
Beavers spent the remainder of this evenings session in the playground so we hope there are some tired Beavers tonight! 😴
Well done to all Beavers and of course, to the Scouters who wrestled with the masking tape rolls!

A huge well done and thank you to our Scouters Ciaran Geoghegan Karen Delahan Maher and Jason Maher who completed the Pioneering Adventure Skills Facilitators Course this weekend at Glendale Wilderness Lodge in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. πŸ‘βšœοΈ

And thank you to the wonderful Scouting Ireland Pioneering Adventure Skill team for volunteering their time to share their skills.

A fantastic commitment to spend the weekend developing new skills to bring back to the Group to pass on to our youth members

We’re really looking forward to seeing your new pioneering skills in action over the coming months, hopefully with some impressive camp gadgets and structures on the way! πŸͺ’β›ΊπŸŒ²

A mini investiture was a great opportunity to recall the Beaver Scout pledge ⚜️
A fire safety quiz to jog the memories and some shelter building took place in preparation for future camps πŸ•οΈ

Beavers had a very laid back evening in the Backwoods yesterday. 🌳

They made some bird feeders with Cheerios and pipe cleaners and plan to see how many are left the next time they get out to the woods! Some creative Beavers made some snack bracelets and necklaces, perfect for a quick snack when exploring! 🀣

A great addition last night included a sticky dartboard 🎯 and rugby ball πŸ‰ for a few passes between the Beavers

Another successful evening out enjoying the sunshine β˜€οΈ

Beavers were kept busy this evening with some new skills! The good weather has been so beneficial to getting Beavers out in the Backwoods, they have been making the most of the space for sure β˜€οΈ

Yesterday, we used the fish & dish method to learn how to make a clove hitch ➿
Lots of crafting and making wood cookie necklaces and bracelets, some creative use of pipe cleaners to attach their cookies to their neckers! πŸͺ΅
Beavers enjoyed peeling sticks again and even decorating them to use in their adventure time, pretending to catch fish 🎣 who knows what they’ll get up to next Backwoods session!
