Get Hong Kong ready for a Professional Hub on Smart Procurement and Fulfilment 1st Procure-tech Workshop

To enhance the knowledge of relevant stakeholders in the procurement industry on technological advancement and digital transformation, and to maintain international competitiveness, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong (IPSHK) will organise a series of workshops and CPO ConneXion related to the industry and digital transformation, aiming to improve procurement practitioners' awareness and ex*****on capabilities for digital development, and cultivate digital literacy.

Industry experts, academics and digital transformation representatives, etc., will be invited to the Procure-tech workshop to share how to leverage the innovative technologies to enhance work efficiency. Participants can master the skills of digital transformation through some practical examples.

Visit Experience Centre on Oct 13, 2023

IPSHK members visited Axis Communications Limited, a network technology company offering solutions in physical security on October 13, 2023.

With Axis’s meticulous planning, IPSHK members firstly were introduced to ‘The six technology trends affecting
the security sector in 2023’ presented by Axis Key Account Manager, Jacky Ng.

Then, IPSHK members attended the Axis Experience Centre, which demonstrates how the advanced version of CCTV connected with network system helped collect data for analytics in traffic management, visitor management, and the reinforcement of physical security measures.

We thank you for IPSHK members for their support in this event and for the closing remark from our Chairperson, Dannies Ho. Additionally, we are grateful for all preparation by Axis team, including Dorothy Chow, Shirley Sin, Jacky Ng, Carrie Lai, Ken Lam, and Gian Yip.

BSI - ISO 23412:2020 Implementation Training Course (2 Days) on 5 & 6 October 2023

IPSHK is the supporting organization of “ISO 23412:2020 Implementation Training Course (2 Days) - First International Recognized Standard for Indirect, Temperature-Controlled Refrigerated Delivery Services — Land Transport of Parcels with Intermediate Transfer” which will be held on 5 & 6 Oct 2023 by BSI.

The following is the course details.

Course Structure:

• Introduce transportation of chilled or frozen parcels in temperature-controlled land transportation vehicles via geographical routing systems

• Explain requirements for resources, equipment, operations and communications to delivery service users

• Considering implementation perspective

Kyocera team led by Mr Cardiff Chan, Managing Director organised a very well-planned visit to IPSHK members.

Starting from the introduction of Kyocera Philosophy, we are impressed with the life principles - ‘living in a right way as a human being’ and ‘serving the greater good of Humanity and the World’.

Then, IPSHK are introduced with Kyocera’s Document Solutions Technology Application, Cloud Base Solution Application and also its practice in Environmental, Social, and Governance Application (ESG).

It is a fruitful trip to all of us as we could learn the new solutions that can fit not only the large-scale corporation, but also Small-Medium Sized enterprises. We could experience how Kyocera team walks the talk and bring the Kyocera principles to life!

ATL Logistics Centre Visit on November 29, 2022

IPSHK members paid a visit at the world's largest multi-level industrial building, ATL Logistics Centre with total 9 million sq. ft.

Many thanks to ATL’s Operations Director, Mr Dennis Ng who gave us an interesting introduction of ATL’s history, development, and its strength.

He also mentioned the sophisticated gatekeeping system in traffic control with a daily flow of over 7,000 vehicles, which allowed the efficient trucks movement inside the warehouse with over 300,000 sq. ft. per storey even though there is no traffic light inside the building.

Lastly, members visited one of the tenants warehouse in ATL and understood the operation and the warehouse design and operations. That concludes the visit at ATL.

Dear Members,

We would like to cordially invite you to visit ATL on 29th November, 2022 (Tuesday) from 16:00 – 17:00. A coach will be arranged for the return trip between ATL and Olympic City.

ATL Logistics Centre is the world's largest multi-level industrial building with 24 hours security services. ATL is equipped with a gate controlling system, managing average 7,000 trucks in a working day.

Its warehouse area is about 300Ksf to 400Ksf per floor, which is as large as the total area of an industrial building. Big corporations, like IKEA, WELCOME are also its tenants.
