‘I want to capture that urban moment of being blinded by the sun reflected from the face of a skyscraper. A moment of a powerful reminder of the planetary relationship we exist within.’ 🪞🌇
What if a skyscraper no longer stood upright but cantilevered horizontally on its side, freed from gravity? Stella Zhong ()’s commissioned installation ‘Warp Until Fearless’, brings this vision to life.
The glaring reflections act like artificial sun, momentarily blinding anyone who steps before them. Walk past the glare, small geometric and organic forms emerge across the glass slope—debris, molecules, or fragments from another world, shifting between stillness and action.
Drawing from Zhong’s experiences in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Jakarta, the work speaks to cities shaped by rapid transformation, where time feels warped and architecture constantly reinvents itself across different landscapes.
On view now at ‘Site-seeing’ until Sun 14 Jun 2026.
