As part of London Climate Action Week 2026, Civic Exchange, in partnership with Capacity-building Alliance of Sustainable Investment (CASI) and the 大灣區碳中和協會 GBA Carbon Neutrality Association, invites you to a high-level dialogue exploring how two leading global cities—London and Hong Kong—can collaborate to scale practical urban climate solutions across markets.

With a distinguished delegation from Hong Kong joining London during the week, this event will bring together policymakers, financial institutions, engineering leaders, professional services firms, and international organisations to address shared urban challenges facing mature, high-density, and ageing cities.

🔎 Key themes include:
• Aligning standards, finance, and policy across jurisdictions
• Translating global frameworks into implementable urban resilience
• Mobilising capital at scale for urban transformation
• Scaling retrofit, resilience, and nature-based solutions

🎤 Featured Speakers & Panels:
• Keynote session featuring Dr Ma Jun (CASI), Mr Charles Karangwa ( IUCN), and Ms Cristina Gamboa (World Green Building Council)
• Panel discussions on London–Hong Kong collaboration, Nature-based Solutions, and financing the urban transition
• Networking reception to connect with cross-sector leaders shaping the future of sustainable cities

This event positions London and Hong Kong not as separate case studies—but as partners addressing global climate implementation challenges relevant to both developed and emerging markets.

If you’re engaged in sustainable finance, urban resilience, green building, policy innovation, or climate implementation, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.

On 29 May 2026, Civic Exchange was honoured to visit SKH Tsoi Kung Po Secondary School to conduct a test screening of the documentary ‘People of Bridges: Explores the Connection Between the Amazon and Hong Kong’ for about 200 Form 4 and Form 5 students.

During the sharing session, Ms Charlie Yip, our Community Empowerment Assistant, reflected on her experiences in the Amazon and explored why the Amazon rainforest matters to all of us. As one of the world's richest ecosystems, the Amazon rainforest stores vast amounts of carbon, helps regulate the global climate, and is home to Indigenous communities who play a vital role as environmental stewards.

Through the documentary, students discovered that Amazon and Hong Kong are more connected than they may imagine. From climate change impacts to nature-based solutions such as reforestation, wetlands, and mangroves that help reduce flooding risks, the film highlights how ecosystems, communities, and global cities are deeply interconnected.

Following the screening, we also introduced students to the diverse career pathways within the environmental and sustainability sectors, demonstrating that everyone can contribute to positive change through different industries and professions.

A heartfelt thank you to SKH Tsoi Kung Po Secondary School for the invitation and opportunity to engage with students. We hope this meaningful sharing has planted seeds of curiosity, responsibility, and hope for a more sustainable future.

Should your school, university, or corporate organisation be interested in hosting a test screening of this documentary, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please do get in touch with our team to explore potential collaborative opportunities.

【Event Recap︱

Civic Exchange was delighted to contribute to Hydrogen Week 2026 and the International Hydrogen Development Symposium 2026, hosted by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), HKSAR Government. As the strategic partner for Hydrogen Week, Civic Exchange proudly co-organised the Net Zero Youth Forum: Connecting Global Young Energy Leaders with Hong Kong’s Engineering Talent to Enable Emerging Asia’s Energy Transition on 20 May 2026.

The morning brought together 14 speakers from the Chinese mainland, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh with diverse backgrounds and expertise to explore the evolving energy transition landscape in Emerging Asia, covering new energy technologies and deployment pathways, sustainable finance and investment, and the skills needed to empower future energy and sustainability leaders. These sessions provided valuable insight into the on-the-ground realities of Emerging Asia’s energy transitions, helping to ground subsequent discussions in the lived contexts of the region.

In the afternoon, our 46 young professionals including engineers, finance professional and researcher led the conversation in roundtable discussions, exchanging ideas on how Hong Kong can contribute to Emerging Asia’s energy transition. Participants reflected on key barriers to progress and collaboration, and considered how Hong Kong could best leverage its role as a super-connector and super-value-adder. The forum concluded with group reflections and practical recommendations for next steps.

Progress is not only driven by technologies, but by people working together across disciplines, institutions, and borders. The forum connected regional perspectives with Hong Kong’s strengths; we hope that participants will build upon these conversations and connections for future collaboration.

Thank you to The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong for supporting this initiative, and to EMSD for partnering with us. We are sincerely grateful to all our speakers and participants for sharing valuable insights, and look forward to continued cooperation.

🌍We are pleased to launch our Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2026 White Paper and Public Survey. The paper highlights the urgent physical, economic, and systemic risks Hong Kong faces from climate change — from rising temperatures and extreme weather to supply chain disruption and long term economic impacts. It also outlines new opportunities for the city to lead in areas such as carbon markets, adaptation planning, circular economy development, and nature based solutions.

As part of this launch, we are inviting professionals across Hong Kong’s ESG, sustainability, finance, policy, and built environment sectors to share their perspectives through an anonymous survey. Your insights will directly inform our recommendations to the HKSAR Government ahead of the 2026 review of the Climate Action Plan.
