❤️🐾 MEET SNOOPY AND OREO!! AND YES, I AM STILL THEIR EXHAUSTED MOTHER!! 🤣❤️

Do you remember the two tiny boys who arrived in my flat after two young girls found them and took them to our vet Rania? The ones who decided that I should become a mother again at my age?!! 😂

Well, they are still here, still keeping me busy, and still expecting their meals every THREE HOURS!! Day and night!! 😩🤣 I keep telling them that their mother is an old lady who needs her sleep, but they don't seem very interested in my problems!! 🙈❤️

Last week I asked you all to help me choose names for my two little troublemakers, and WOW!! So many wonderful suggestions!! I read them all, and finally I have made my decision!!

🐾 Meet SNOOPY and OREO!! 🐾

Both names were suggested by our lovely supporter Katja Scherer, and I think they are just perfect!! ❤️ Thank you so much, Katja, and thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to suggest names. You made choosing very difficult for me!! 😂

So now Snoopy and Oreo have their names, a warm place to sleep, and a very tired woman running around after them!! And what do I have? TWO MORE BABIES TO FEED!! 🤣🤣

But just look at these little faces. What can I do?!! ❤️

Thank you everyone for caring about my two little boys. Now please tell Snoopy and Oreo that their mother needs a full night's sleep!! 😂❤️

And if anyone would like to help me with their milk, food and veterinary care, I would be very grateful. The babies keep coming, and unfortunately so do the veterinary bills!! 🙈

ANOTHER INJURED PUPPY. AND A VERY BADLY BROKEN LEG.

This little girl is just four and a half months old, weighs only 6 kilos, and has already found herself in a very difficult situation.

She was found alone and injured on a main road outside a village. Thankfully, some people stopped, picked her up and brought her to the clinic of vet Iro Katsifou-Oupa here in town.

Unfortunately, the X-rays show a very serious fracture of her back leg, and she will need surgery. I don't know what happened to her. Maybe she was hit by a car, maybe something else. We don't know how long she had been there either.

What I can tell you is that she is a really lovely puppy. Very calm, very sweet and so good with everyone, even with all the examinations and handling of her injured leg. At just four and a half months old, she has a lot of growing up still to do.

I am grateful to the people who stopped and helped her. It is so important when people see an injured animal that they do something instead of assuming somebody else will take care of it.

Now we have to deal with the broken leg. And of course, this means another operation, medication, veterinary care and another bill. I know I talk a lot about our veterinary expenses, but this is the reality of rescue work here. It is not always the big dramatic emergencies. Sometimes it is one puppy found on a road, another cat needing treatment, another dog needing an operation. And all these expenses keep adding up.

We already have so many animals depending on us, but this puppy needs help now. We cannot ask her to wait until our finances are better.

I will let you know what happens with her surgery. For now, she is safe at the clinic and being cared for. That is the important thing today.

And a big thank you again to the people who stopped for her. ❤️

❤️🐾 WHY DID I TAKE THIS DOG BACK TO THE STREETS?

I know that some people watching this video will wonder why, after taking this lovely old boy to the vet and getting him the treatment he needed, I returned him to the streets.

So I want to explain something about the reality of animal rescue here in Greece.

This boy has lived in his neighbourhood for many years. Thankfully, a kind lady who lives there has been looking after him and keeping an eye on his health. When she noticed that he was developing problems with his skin, she sent me the first video you see here and asked for help.

I collected him and took him straight to vet Rania.

He received a thorough examination, his skin was cleaned and treated, he was given antibiotics, his overgrown nails were clipped and his ears were checked. Everything he needed to make him comfortable and prevent his condition from becoming much more serious.

And afterwards, yes, he went back to his familiar neighbourhood and the lady who cares about him. ❤️

I completely understand that for people living in the UK, US and northern Europe, where stray dogs are rarely seen, this might seem shocking. But here in Greece, where we have millions of stray animals, we face some very difficult decisions every single day.

I cannot bring every dog I help into my shelter. I simply don't have the space or the resources. And every kennel I fill with a dog who can safely return to his neighbourhood is a kennel I cannot offer to another dog who would not survive without shelter.

Until we can get the number of unwanted puppies being born under control through widespread neutering, rescuers like me will continue to face these impossible choices.

That is the reality we live with.

And actually, this lovely boy is one of the lucky ones. He has someone who watches over him, who notices when something is wrong and who knows she can contact me when he needs extra help.

Because of that, we were able to intervene early, before his condition became much more painful, complicated and expensive to treat.

These are the small things I do all the time that you don't always see. A skin infection. An injured paw. An ear problem. A dog who needs medication or just a little extra veterinary attention.

Each one matters enormously to the animal receiving that help. But each visit also adds to my growing veterinary debt. And that is why I am so grateful to everyone who supports me. Your kindness allows me to help dogs like this boy, even when I cannot offer them a permanent place in my shelter.

Rescue isn't always about taking an animal off the streets forever. Sometimes it is about making sure that the life they already have is a healthier, more comfortable one.

And tomorrow there will be another dog who needs me, another trip to Rania, and another veterinary bill. That is why your continued support matters so much.

❤️🐾 TWO NEW BABIES IN MY FLAT!! AND I NEED YOUR HELP!! 😂❤️

Two little boys have arrived in my life, and already they are killing me!! 🤣

They were found one evening by two young girls who didn't just walk past and leave them. They picked them up and took them to our vet, Rania. ❤️

Rania called me to ask if I could help, and of course, what could I say?!!

So now these two little boys are living with me in my flat!!

And every THREE HOURS they need feeding!! Day and night!! 😩😂

I am too old to be a mother again!! I need my sleep!! 🤣❤️

But look at them. How could I say no?

The two girls did their part. Rania did hers. And now I am doing mine.

So now it is YOUR turn!! 😂

These two little boys need names!! What shall we call them? I want to hear your suggestions!! ❤️🐾

And of course, if anyone would like to help with their milk, food and veterinary care, I would be very grateful. My debt with the vets never seems to finish, and somehow there are always more little mouths to feed!! 🙈

Thank you everyone, and please wish me some sleep!! 🤣❤️

❤️🐾 I think winter is coming early to Karditsa this year!! 🥶

We have had so much rain already this autumn, and it's getting colder, so it's time to get all the winter beds ready at our little village house!

As you can see, everyone is making themselves very comfortable!! 😂

We have blankets everywhere, beds everywhere, and of course some dogs who prefer to share and others who think they need a whole sofa to themselves!! I spend so much time washing blankets and making beds, and five minutes later everything is upside down again! 😂

But at least everyone is warm and cosy, and that's what matters. ❤️

I think they are much better prepared for winter than I am!! 🥰🐾

❤️❤️ Look what arrived in Karditsa from our wonderful friends in Germany!! 🇩🇪🇬🇷

So many things for our animals!! Food, treats, blankets, towels, toys, collars, leads, medicines and lots of other things we need every day! 🐕🐈

I want to say a very BIG THANK YOU to all our lovely friends and followers in Germany who collected and donated all these things for us, and of course to our wonderful German homing partners Silent Souls of Strays e.V., who organised everything to come here to Karditsa. ❤️

You cannot imagine how much this helps us! We have so many dogs and cats in our care and always so many expenses, so receiving all these things is really a big help.

And I am so happy that our animals have so many friends, even so far away in Germany! 🥰

Thank you to every single person who helped, donated or organised this. We appreciate everything so much and we are very lucky to have you all supporting us.

Sending lots of love from me and our rescues here in Karditsa!! ❤️❤️🐾

THANK YOU!! 😘😘

Almost a month ago, on 12 September, this little girl hobbled out from behind a bush at the side of a road and came towards me.

A lovely lady chose the name Honey for her, and I think it suits her very well. ❤️

Since then, Honey has put us through the wringer.

We already knew her front leg was badly damaged and couldn't be saved, but before we could deal with that, we had another problem. She developed chronic diarrhoea that just would not settle.

There were tests, treatments, special food, good days followed by bad ones, and plenty of worry. We couldn't put such a small, poorly puppy through a major operation until her stomach had settled and she was strong enough.

Eventually we got there.

Honey started eating properly, the diarrhoea finally stopped and she became stronger. Then the vets were able to operate and remove the damaged front leg that was doing nothing for her except causing pain.

And now look at her.

This is the same puppy who hobbled out of that bush less than a month ago.

She has three legs, absolutely no intention of feeling sorry for herself, and a lot of puppy business to attend to. 😂

She's a tiny burst of joy and optimism, bursting at the seams with life. All energy, all innocence, all heart - and apparently there is an enormous world out there that Honey needs to investigate immediately.

After the month she's given us, seeing her like this is rather wonderful. ❤️

And wouldn't it be lovely if someone decided they could do with a little Honey in their life?

If you think that might be you, please email [email protected] or message us.

And if it isn't you, please share Honey. Somewhere out there is the person whose life could do with this little three-legged whirlwind in it. 🐾❤️

Well… Diasozo had a rather more civilised day than usual for World Animal Day! 😂🐾🎷

No emergency rescues. No rushing to the vet. Instead, we spent the day in Karditsa with the Municipality of Karditsa and Zero Stray Pawject, meeting people and their dogs and offering free microchipping for pets belonging to people from vulnerable groups.

We also talked about animal welfare, responsible ownership and the law - because preventing animals from ending up in trouble matters just as much as being there when they do.

And yes… we even had saxophones! 😂🎷 Thank you Twosax.duo for our soundtrack.

A huge thank you to Mayor Vasilis Tsiakos, Deputy Mayors Babis Aggelidis and Dimitris Papoulias, Dimitra Charba, our vets Iro Katsifou-Oupa, Vasiliki Spyropoulou and Panagiotis Bountouris, and trainers Penny Tseliou and Christos Papagiannis.

And, of course, our Diasozo team - turning up and getting things done, as always. ❤️

A different sort of World Animal Day for us. But a very good one.

I promised I would tell you more about Vaitsa when we knew more. Unfortunately, this old girl has quite a lot going on. ❤️

The vets have examined her eyes very carefully and found that the pressure is too high in both of them.

One eye is much worse and Vaitsa is now almost completely blind in that eye. We have started treatment to try to reduce the pressure and it will need to be checked again to see how she responds.

The large swelling on her neck has also been investigated. It is a blocked salivary gland, so treatment has started for this too.

I really hope it responds because, if it doesn't, Vaitsa will need a major and complicated operation. So for now she remains hospitalised under the care of Panagiotis Bountouris while we see how she responds to the treatment.

And then I have another problem to solve. Vaitsa has lived outside since 2017, but I don't want this elderly girl, with her problems with her sight, simply returning to the street. I need to find her a safe foster home.

I also desperately need some help with her veterinary and hospitalisation costs. There have already been many examinations and tests and we don't yet know whether surgery will be necessary.

If anyone can help me with Vaitsa, either financially or by offering her a foster home, please contact me. For now, we treat her eyes, we treat the blocked gland, and we wait to see how she responds.

One thing at a time. ❤️

This is Vaitsa. She is around 10 years old and she needs my help. ❤️

Vaitsa has been living as a stray in this area of Karditsa since 2017. She has always had food and a safe place to stay, but I was contacted because she now needs veterinary care.

When I went to find her, I could see there were problems with her eyes and she also had a very large swelling on her neck. Thankfully, she was calm with me and allowed me to pick her up and carry her to the car. And then we went straight to the vet.

Vaitsa is safe there now. She needs to be properly examined so that we can understand what is happening with her eyes and the swelling on her neck, and what we need to do to help her.

I will tell you more when we know more. ❤️
