Welcome to our group of Greyhound and Hound walkers and lovers to meet and walk our hounds.

Welcome to our group of Greyhound walkers and hound lovers, to socialise and walk our hounds. Walks take place on the second Sunday of every month at Yeovil Recreation Centre and the last Sunday of the month at Ninesprings Country Park, both in support of the Dorset and Somerset Greyhound Trust.

What an amazing day we had at Yeovil Recreation Centre on 20th September. Our course was fully booked and we raised lots of money for Greyhound Trust Dorset and Somerset Branch

Thank you to Amanda Allwinds Dog First Aid and all who attended including Sherborne Vale Dog Training Club .

Our next course is in January. Unfortunately due to increases in venue charges, the course has increased to £60, which is still tremendous value. Come join us and learn crucial skills.

*****FOUND****** Just been reunited - Monday morning.

We have a locally lost microchipped 12 year old whippet.

I have just spoken to the owner. Please share as far as possible to help reunite Lilly with her pawrents.

Today we hosted the Great Global Greyhound Walk at Yeovil Recreation Centre. We had 34 hounds participate and had many strange looks from the public. A great day was had by all. Thanks for making it a fantastic day.

What a fantastic walk today for the Great Global Greyhound Walk . We achieved a total of 34 Sighthounds walking with us. The staff at the cafe said we stirred up a lot of attention and enquiries from the public, which was our aim..… To promote greyhounds as wonderful pets.

Sorry my phone's quality was not great, but the quality of our community is awesome. Videos on the next post.

What a fantastic monthly walk today with 19 sighthounds and one honorary greyhound. So glad to see so many beautiful retired hounds.

Please join us on 27th September for the Great Global Greyhound Walk and help us beat the record of over 16,500 dogs walking on the same day in 47 countries to promote what wonderful pets retired Greyhounds make..

Looking like a hot one again this month for our walk on Sunday.

The forecast is 17 Deg at 8am, rising steadily upwards.

So, I'm just going to cancel the formal walk at 10:30 as it'll be a dangerous 25deg for our older dogs.

I'll be out with Rachel and our 2 at 8:30 if anyone wants to join us for a quick walk and get together, then into the air conditioned cafe afterwards. -J

Looking for recommendations for a dog groomer that is happy with bigger dogs/greyhounds in the Yeovil area?

Our usual groomer has hurt her shoulder and no idea when/if she will be back in action. Our new greys have never been groomed, so we can’t wait much longer As we need to de-shed their winter coats.

Any recommendations please? John

I haven’t mentioned this for a while as it’s been wet and the summer seemed to be taking a while to arrive, but it is here now.

A walk around Langport anyone? Doesn’t have to official, just a social get together and can tailor a walk to suit. North Moor is close to the town, but draws a lot on interest from some of the locals 🤣

Luckily we have several paths and droves that are all accessible, flat and ideal. Walk can be around 1.5 to 3 miles, depending on what people think.

Let me know in the comments please, not just a thumbs up as to make it worthwhile, I’d rather have an idea of actual people who would attend.
