📣 Join the conversation: Somerset Arts + Culture Diversity Forum 2026

How can arts and culture better support the creativity, wellbeing and lived experiences of older people in Somerset?

Somerset Art Works is please to be part of this important county-wide forum, delivered in partnership with Take Art and Somerset Film at The Engine Room, bringing together artists, older people, educators, care professionals and organisations working across culture and communities. With thanks also to our venue partners Westlands Yeovil for hosting the event.

This event will explore:
• creative ageing and participation
• reducing isolation through arts activity
• how artistic practice changes through later life
• how Somerset can respond more inclusively to the creative needs of older adults
We aim to create a safe space for us all to talk honestly, share experiences and best practice, challenge perceptions, and provoke individual and collective action.

You’ll hear presentations from:
- Ann Farley, Visual artist and filmmaker
- Dance 4 Parkinson's Wells
- Research presentation
- Yeovil and South Somerset presentations
- Our Turn project
