Aims and Objectives: It is the aim of able2achieve Limited to provide high quality and innovative services to people aged 18 years and upwards and whose primary diagnosis is that of a learning disability whose needs can be metwithin a community setting, we understand that many people within our communities at times receive more than one diagnosis therefore we also offer support to those diagnosed with mental health, early onset dementia and young adults needing transition into independence. We pride ourselves on having the ability to offer support to those with behavioural management issues and/or complex health needs, we do this by recruiting experienced staff teams and delivering high quality training. All services are offered to each individual in a way that promotes independence and increases opportunity for now and in the future.

Halloween is coming to Yeovil, and you’re invited to the able2rave Halloween Special! 🎃

Join us on Wednesday 21st October from 6pm to 9pm at the able2achieve Head Office for our neurodivergent disco, an inclusive community event for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and additional needs across Somerset and Devon. You don’t need to be connected to able2achieve to come. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a regular on the dance floor, bringing a friend, or coming along with family, carers or support staff.

Fancy dress is encouraged, so dig out your best spooky costume! There will also be a snack bar and non-alcoholic drinks all evening.

Tickets are just £3 and must be bought in advance from the a2a Head Office in Yeovil. Spaces are limited, so don’t leave it too late.

For many people, the best nights out are the ones where you can relax, be yourself and know you belong. That’s what able2rave is all about. Come for the music and the dancing, stay for the laughs, the new faces and the feeling of being part of something great. Social events like this help reduce loneliness, build confidence and boost wellbeing, and they’re a lot of fun too

This World Mental Health Day, we are reflecting on the theme, "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change." It’s a powerful reminder that every individual’s story should shape the support they receive.

At able2achieve, person-centred support means placing each learner’s lived experience at the heart of everything we do. By listening to what matters to them, we build an ongoing, adaptable conversation around their goals, emotional well-being, and mental health.

Listening isn't a one-off assessment; it's a continuous commitment. As needs and aspirations evolve, we keep checking in, adapting our support, and ensuring our learners lead their own journey toward greater independence.

True support requires safe spaces where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to share their lived experience every single day. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to keeping communication open, championing every voice, and delivering care that truly listens.

Celebrating those who may not deliver direct care but make a significant contribution to service quality and outcomes.

🏆 Care Team of the Year: able2achieve Management Team
Celebrating a team that works collaboratively to deliver exceptional care and consistently goes above and beyond for those they support.

Rob began his able2achieve journey in IT support and has grown into our senior management team. From building our bespoke IT system to leading our Business Support Team, he works so our supported living teams can spend more meaningful time with our learners.

Our management team is one of a kind. Over 90% have progressed within able2achieve and more than half started out as Support Workers, so they know our teams and the people we support inside out. They champion staff progression, deliver training in Epilepsy Awareness, Positive Behaviour Support, and Bespoke Care Planning, and bring our community together with events like able2rave and seasonal celebrations.

Together, they help bring Respect, Opportunity, Choice! to life every day for the people we support across Somerset and Devon, through our supported living, day services and work preparation.

We're honoured to be finalists. The awards evening is on 16th October, so fingers crossed! 🤞

For a long time, Disneyland Paris sat at the top of Elz's wish list. 💜✨

That's what person-centred support is really about. It's not just meeting day-to-day needs, it's listening properly to what someone actually wants out of life, then doing everything possible to help make it happen. Sometimes that's a quiet Monday afternoon doing something she loves. Sometimes it's a trip she's been dreaming about for years.

For Elz, this was one of those bigger moments. With the support of her team and family behind her, a wish on a list became a plan, a plan became a booking, and before long, she was on her way.

We won't give away the whole story (the photos do that far better than we ever could), but we will say this: watching someone's dream come true is exactly why we do what we do at able2achieve. It's a reminder that support isn't just about care, it's about opportunity, and about making sure no goal feels out of reach.

Here's to Elz, and to every single Learner out there working towards something that matters to them, whatever that looks like. 🏰

Make Mondays your best day: Support Worker Role, Ottery St Mary 💜

Calling all men looking for a part-time care job where no two Mondays are the same!

Meet our learner at The Silver Otter Learning Centre. He's friendly, he's funny, and he's got big plans for his Mondays, from learning new skills to getting stuck in with volunteering. We're looking for a male 1:1 Learner Support Worker who can keep up, share a laugh and make every day count.

You won't just be supporting someone. You'll be learning, growing and having fun right alongside him. 🌱

We had an extra pair of hands in the café today! 💜

Jules Hudson popped into our café here in Ottery St Mary, apron on, sleeves rolled up, and straight into the mix with our Learners and team. Tea made, chats had, and a genuinely brilliant atmosphere all round.

Of course, that's not really why he was there... but we can't say much more just yet. 👀

Watch this space. Some things are worth the wait.

These aren't just words on a page for us. They're our values, and they shape everything we do at able2achieve.

Good care doesn't start with a process. It starts with a person. Across Somerset and Devon, that means listening first, and building support around what actually matters to someone, whether that's through supported living, day services, or work placements, rather than fitting them into a system that was never designed with them in mind.

Whether someone is developing everyday living skills, building confidence through a new activity, or gaining real work experience, the goal is the same: to help people move forward in a way that fits their own life, at their own pace.

This week's Sign of the Week is TEDDY! 🧸

Every week, able2achieve joins 's Sign of the Week to build Makaton signing into our sessions. Our staff and learners have been practising the sign together, using Makaton signs and symbols alongside speech to support communication for the learners we support.

It's brilliant to see the whole able2achieve team, learners included, learning and using Makaton together — something that's built into our culture at every level.
