💙 Thank you for celebrating 20 years with us 💙

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to support Yeovil ShopMobility’s Awareness Day and 20th birthday celebration.

The weather may not have been fully on our side, but the day was still full of warmth, laughter, conversation, birthday cake, balloons, tombola, refreshments and community spirit.

More than anything, the day was about marking 20 years of Yeovil ShopMobility, giving something back to our customers and community, and recognising the people who have helped keep this small charity going over the years.

We were pleased to welcome Lisa Deacon from ShopMobilityUK along with Keith Roper from Driving Mobility, who came to visit us, see our office and equipment, learn more about our service and help capture some lovely moments from the day. Their visit helped make our 20th birthday feel that little bit more special, and we really appreciated them taking the time to come and see us.

As it is also Volunteers’ Week, it feels especially important to shine a light on our wonderful volunteers. Yeovil ShopMobility simply would not be what it is without the time, care, energy and kindness they give to help keep the service running.

A very special thank you to Jack, Glenda, Michael and David for the time, support and commitment they continue to give to Yeovil ShopMobility. Your help makes such a difference, and we are truly grateful.

We would also like to thank Sue, Loz, Kerri, Jess, Tim, Vanessa, and everyone else who supports us in so many different ways.

Whether helping customers, supporting the office, setting up, serving refreshments, fundraising, handing out leaflets, helping with equipment, baking, donating, tidying away, joining us for a chat, or simply being there, every bit of help matters.

Days like this only happen because people care enough to show up.

We were also really pleased to see new customers come in, ask questions, try out equipment and gain confidence before going out into town. That is exactly why Yeovil ShopMobility is here.

Because this service is not just about hiring out equipment.

It is about helping people stay independent, stay connected, keep their confidence and continue doing the ordinary but important things that matter.

Always a huge thank you to the Quedam Shopping Centre, Yeovil for their continued support and for helping Yeovil ShopMobility remain part of the town centre community we care so deeply about.

Twenty years is a milestone we are very proud of, but it belongs to everyone who has used, supported, volunteered for, donated to, visited, spoken about or believed in Yeovil ShopMobility along the way.

If you, or someone you know, is ever struggling with mobility, please remember we are here.

We are just so thankful and grateful for this day, and for 20 years of support. Thank you for letting us shout about it. 💙

💙 A little personal favour to ask... 💙

This Saturday, Yeovil ShopMobility celebrates 20 years of supporting independence in our community.

As many of you know, we are a small local charity run by a fantastic team of volunteers, and after all these years we still regularly hear people say:

"I didn't know you were there!"

So if you've ever used our service, know somebody who has, shared one of our posts, donated a raffle prize, volunteered your time, or simply supported us along the way, please help us spread the word one more time.

A simple share can make a huge difference.

There may be somebody out there struggling with their mobility who doesn't yet know support is available.

And honestly? That breaks our hearts a little.

Because there are so many people out there struggling quietly who may benefit from our service, not just in Yeovil, but from surrounding areas too, and they simply don’t realise support is here waiting for them.

We’re right at the bottom of the Quedam Shopping Centre car park and we’d love you to come and say hello.

🌟 We’re OPEN this Saturday!🌟
We’re proud to be supporting the Yeovil Town Crier Competition happening this weekend, and with so much going on in town, we didn’t want anyone missing out.

With the Town Crier Competition, food festival and everything else happening across the town, it’s set to be a busy and lively day in Yeovil.

A rare one for us… but we’ll be open 10am–4pm so if you’ve been thinking you wouldn’t be able to get into town or enjoy the day — you can. We’ve got you 💙

We’ll have scooters and wheelchairs available so you can come in, get sorted, and be part of everything happening around town.

Thank you for visiting us, Adam!

We were really pleased to recently welcome our local MP, Adam Dance, back to Yeovil Shopmobility to see first-hand the work we continue to do supporting people across our community.

This year marks 20 years of helping people stay independent, connected and confident when getting out and about.

But what surprises people most? Even after two decades, we still hear: “I didn’t know you were here!”

So if you know someone who might need a service like ours, please feel free to share this post, you never know who might need to see it.

We’re based in the basement of the Quedam car park (lift lobby) and we’re here for anyone who needs a little extra help getting around. If you or a loved one could benefit from short- or long-term scooter hire, please get in touch.
