Downs Farm Trust Animal Rescue Charity

Downs Farm Trust Animal Rescue Charity Downs Farm Trust is a registered animal rescue charity based in Yalding, Kent. We would consider taking in any animal that needed our help.

Registered Charity number- 1101181
Donations can be made via Paypal using the email address [email protected] and are always gratefully received. We would then either find them a forever home or keep them here at the farm to provide ongoing care for as long as they needed it. We are committed to animal welfare and educating the public on animal welfare related issues. I am also a fully qualified and registered veterinary nurse with a deep love of all animals.

New supply’s just arrived

I want to give a big shout out to the wonderful team at Maximum Animal Health

Their products are amazing- backed by science and sold with love and genuine care for their customers

For horses and dogs

Plus- they work, they do what they say on the tin and they help keep the horses and dogs in as best health as they can be.

As a small family company they are so supportive of the charity and regularly send extra free product for the animals and i’m very grateful indeed

Welcome Sainsbury’s!
That’s his temporary name bless him

He has been living as a stray for a while apparently and had a large untreated abscess on his back

The lovely guys at Little Hoppers Vets Headcorn have treated him and castrated him today.

He is very skinny and very timid but is a friendly boy

He is home at the farm now just finishing off his I/v fluids as he was very dehydrated.

He will stay here for the next week to make sure he isn’t claimed- which I doubt very much as he was not chipped and was entire and covered in fleas and ticks 😩

Then he will be looking for a lovely new home

Please please please keep your dogs on leads!
Especially around horses and livestock- it’s a criminal offence to let dogs worry or stress horses and livestock

Unless your dog has a cast iron recall in all circumstances then it should never be allowed off a leash…. Use a secure dog park if you want to let them run free and keep them on leads when in public and on footpaths etc

We had 3 dogs attack my goats recently - the goats were in their field and the 3 off lead dogs ran about 1/4 mile from the footpath to attack them. The owner had zero control and the dogs did not even have collars on…. Absolutely disgusting

Luckily we managed to intervene in the nick of time but it could have been a very different story!

Sending deepest condolences to the owners of these poor horses- it’s horrific
