Hope you've all had a brilliant summer. We're looking forward to the autumn season and it was fantastic to see so many people at the Friends of Wylam coffee morning today (and every fortnight on Tuesday mornings from 10.30). There was a great community atmosphere in the hall. We have lots of great classes returning this week too.

Dates are being booked in for weekend events throughout the autumn and winter. If you are thinking of booking the Institute for your special occasion, please visit our website at https://northumberlandvillagehalls.org.uk/wylam-institute-community-association to check availability and make a booking.

Did you know there’s a national initiative to hear from people about how they experience life in their communities? We think it’s important to have our voices heard and have shared the link to the survey, which is a collaboration between The Together Initiative and Oxford University, with some information from the website. The closing date is 31 August.

The National Conversation is a UK-wide listening initiative, inviting people right across the country to share what they value about community life and the kind of communities they want to build together.
Something has shifted in how people experience community life. Trust feels more fragile. Connections that once held neighbourhoods together – the school gates, the high street, the local pub, the place of worship – are harder to find in many places. And too many people feel that nobody is asking what they think about it

A UK-wide listening initiative, inviting people to share what they value about community life and the communities they want to build together.
