Worksop Society of Artists The Society welcomes artists of all levels to create together. We meet every Monday and all levels are welcome.

On Monday 15th June we will have our June Demonstration which this month will be Stephen Coates demonstrating "Vision and Composition" The demonstration will run 2pm to 4pm. The regular meeting will close at 1:45 to allow for room re-arrangement. Members £5 (includes meeting if attended) Guests £6
Refreshments available. All Welcome.

New members, regardless of experience or ability, are always welcome. We meet at the Cricket Club on Mondays 10am to 3pm, arrive and depart anytime within these hours. This is a social meeting not a taught session but help is always on hand. Annual membership £25, weekly subs £3.

Please note this is a social not a taught session, although there are opportunities to participate in informal workshops at some meetings.

On Mon. 8th June there will be an informal oil / acrylic workshop, members are asked to refer to their email to check what they need to bring.

The WSA is exhibiting at the Aurora from Thursday 16th July to Thursday 30th July (not including Sat/Sun)
On most days there will be a member painting/drawing on site during the exhibition and will be available to discuss their personal process. Several of our members are participating in this "Meet the Artist" and this is a great excuse to come along to the exhibition more than once!

On Monday 1st June there will be a projected life drawing quick sketch session. This will run until 12:30pm. After lunch there will be a single image from the morning's sketches for everyone to focus on for a longer drawing. Everyone is welcome to join in.

On Monday 8th June Carole Heyes will hold a Oil/Acrylic workshop.

The WSA meets every Monday between 10am and 3pm., arrive and depart anytime within these hours. Membership is £25 per annum and a weekly subs of £3. There is ample space to work on art projects and refreshments are available at no extra cost. This is a social meeting not a taught session, although advice is always available if needed. All are welcome regardless of experience.

This year we are having an Exhibition at the Aurora, staring on Thursday 16th July until Thursday 30th except weekends. all pictures for sale may be secured with a £5 deposit, balance to be paid on collection Friday 31st July. During the exhibition several of our members will be painting on site and you are welcome to watch them work and ask about their process.

Ladies Night at the Aurora will be on July 23rd tickets available from the Aurora.

We are open on Monday!

Monday 25th May will be a regular meeting.

There will be an Open Information Workshop, available at any time between 11am and 2pm, for anyone exhibiting who wants to know the Society's expectations regarding framing and presentation of artwork. If you are not sure what framing supplies you need or where to source them please come and ask.

Thank you to Mark for his demonstration of landscape in acrylics last week which was enjoyed by all.

Next week Monday June 1st there will be a quick sketch session for anyone wanting to to draw a life model.

There will be a regular meeting of the WSA on Monday 11th May. The meeting runs 10am - 3pm and you may arrive and depart anytime within these hours.
We are currently planning our Exhibition at the Aurora. The Aurora is our nominated Charity this year.
The Aurora Ladies Night will be on the 23rd July, don't forget to support this event and get your tickets.
Our Exhibition will run 16th to 30th July (weekends excepted) There will be an opportunity to "Meet the Artist" during the exhibition. Several of our members will be taking part. They will be painting/drawing on site and will be happy to discuss their work and process. It will be worth visiting the exhibition more than once to meet as many artists as possible! When I have the complete list I will publish on which days an artist will be available for a chat.

Next week we will have a a demonstration by Mark Bloomer who will demonstrate "Landscape in Acrylics". Mark is an experienced artist who demonstrates, runs workshops and holds courses and we are fortunate that he is able to stand in for our planned artist who is no longer able to attend. The demonstration will run 2pm to 4pm Members £5 Guests £6 Refreshments included. All Welcome.

Why not come along, you will be made most welcome.

On Monday 17th November we will have a demonstration by Heather Burton who will demonstrate "Painting with a Palette Knife."
The demonstration will run 2pm to 4pm with a refreshment break. The regular meeting will close at 1:45pm to allow for room rearrangement.
