🤩 Young people helping to shape the workforce!

Some of our Voices United members have recently taken part in interview panels alongside practitioners, helping to interview candidates and sharing their views on who they feel would be right for the role.

They have been involved in interviews for roles including:

⭐ Quality Assurance Officer – Lived Experience
⭐ Speech and Language Advanced Practitioner
⭐ Specialist Practitioner

👏 It’s fantastic to see children and young people having a meaningful voice in recruitment and helping to shape the services and workforce that support them.

Voices United September Forum Online Meeting 💻

Voices United talked about the Worcestershire SEND Reform Plan. 📝

The SEND Reform plan explains how services in Worcestershire will improve support for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). 👥

Voices United talked about how they would like be involved in this work and be part of conversations with services. They want to be part of the new groups and meetings that will be organised to work on the SEND Reform plan goals.

Voices United member, George and SEND Peer Advocate, Christian, visited South Bromsgrove High to deliver a session to school practitioners.

They confidently and honestly shared their experiences of being a young person with SEND in Worcestershire! They mainly spoke about their school experiences.

They answered questions asked by the practitioners and provided a safe space for practitioners to be curious.

Are you blind or partially sighted? RNIB would like to hear about your experiences of healthcare information.

RNIB is inviting blind and partially sighted people living in England to take part in a survey about accessing healthcare information and communications.

The survey asks about experiences of things such as appointment letters, test results, medication information, communication from healthcare services and digital services such as the NHS App.

The survey takes around 10–15 minutes to complete and closes on Tuesday 20 October 2026.

Worcester Deaf Children’s Society has some great events coming up for local families:

🎃 Halloween Trail
📅 24 October, 2pm
📍 Whitlenge Gardens, Hartlebury
A Halloween-themed walk followed by refreshments. Fancy dress welcome!

🎄 Christmas Party
📅 5 December, 1–3pm
📍 Kings Hawford School Barns, Claines
Festive activities, crafts, games, face painting and a visit from Father Christmas.

WDCS has subsidised tickets for families. Tickets are limited, so early booking is recommended.

We're keen to hear from people across Worcestershire about their experiences of getting online, using digital services and accessing technology.

Just as importantly, we'd love your help reaching friends, family members, neighbours and community groups who may not see this post.

Whether someone is confident online, struggles to access digital services, or doesn't use the internet at all, their experiences matter. The feedback gathered will help us better understand digital inclusion across the county and shape future support for residents.
