We have lots of volunteer opportunities in a wide range of fields including administration, IT, retail, mentoring and lots more. Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and experience and to meet new people, plus it’s a really worthwhile way to use your time. Please visit our drop in centre that runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am – 2pm at our Temple Street office or ring us on 01902 328980. We would also love to hear from you if you are an organisation that may be able to offer a placement to volunteers, there are lots of local organisations that are using volunteers and have found it’s a great way to bring in expertise and contribute to the community.

If you work with a voluntary, community, social enterprise or faith organisation in Wolverhampton, come along and join colleagues from across the city.

The Alliance is about connection, collaboration and giving Wolverhampton’s VCSEF sector a strong collective voice – and everyone attending is encouraged to contribute.

Could a minibus help your organisation offer outings for disabled or disadvantaged people? Dennis Wise In The Community donates vehicles to schools and non-profit groups.

Its form gives UK-wide criteria, but the April invitation targets London. Wolverhampton groups should confirm the current geographical focus first.

There is no fixed deadline in the form. Recipients need regular use and funds for running costs.

Calling All Keen Cooks – We Want Your Recipes!

We’re creating a new recipe booklet here at The Albrighton Trust, featuring delicious recipes using produce grown by our Garden Buddies in our gardens and growhouses.
We’d love to get the local community involved and hear your favourite recipes using the produce we grow:
Courgette, Tomatoes, Basil, Potatoes, Melon, Pumpkins, Broad Beans, Chard, Garlic, Cabbage, Leek, Beetroot, Sweet Peas, Radish, Lettuce, Sweetcorn, Squash, Carrot, Turnip, Peppers, Cucumber and Coriander.

Ten minutes. That's all it takes to be part of a world record.

On Thursday 8th October, the National Literacy Trust and the British Council are attempting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most people reading online in 12 hours. People will be taking part all over the world.

Here's what you actually do. Sign up, join a free online session, listen to a few authors, then read for ten minutes. Anything you like. To yourself. That's it — you're part of the record.

Sessions run all day for every age group, so it works for the whole family. Do it with your children, with your grandchildren, with your book group, or on your own with a brew.

💛 Sometimes it’s the practical things that make the biggest difference.

Through our Here Together project, we recently supported a local family who needed a cooker.

With support from Smallwood Trust and Acts 435, we were able to help make sure the family had the cooker they needed.

After it arrived, the family sent us this lovely message:

“May God reward you for all the help and support.”

For us, Here Together is about listening to people and helping with the things that are making everyday life difficult.

Sometimes that might be advice or helping someone find the right service. Other times, it can be something as practical as making sure a family has a cooker.

A big thank you to Acts 435 Acts for helping us make practical support like this possible. 💛
