The Women & Families Resource Centre The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a charity based in Wolverhampton which provides supports and empowers Women & Families.

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, provides services, develops programs, empowers and advocates for women and children. Our main aim is to facilitate the integration of women into the community whilst empowering them to reach and achieve their full potential. We adopt a holistic (One Stop Shop) approach for the delivery of a range of services. The project is targeted at “hard to reach,” disadvantaged women, inspiring, encouraging and motivating them to overcome barriers to improve the quality of their lives and transform their lives. Our work reflects our understanding of not only the poverty and injustice that many women experience, but also the inherent inequalities that they face. We take pride in bringing Women together to share, empower, inspire, motivate and achieve.

Every child deserves someone to turn to.

BBC Children in Need has launched its 2026 appeal, shining a light on some of the challenges children and young people across the UK are facing today.

Recent research highlighted concerns around children's wellbeing, with many young people saying they sometimes feel worried or low without someone to talk to.

It is a reminder that supporting children isn't only about meeting their physical needs. It's also about creating communities where children and families feel seen, supported and cared for.

From essential baby items to practical support, organisations across the UK continue to play an important role in helping families through difficult times.

Behind every family that needs support is a story. And sometimes, a little help can make a big difference.

We often talk about pregnancy, birth and caring for a newborn, but what happens to a mother emotionally after giving birth deserves just as much attention.

A recent UK study has highlighted concerns that thousands of women may experience post-traumatic stress after childbirth without receiving the right support.

Not every difficult birth leaves a visible scar. Some mothers may be struggling emotionally long after they have brought their baby home.

This is why listening to new mothers, checking in on them and making sure they know where to find support is so important.

Every mother deserves to feel heard, supported and cared for not only during pregnancy and birth, but afterwards too.

Sometimes, the biggest support a parent needs is knowing they're not alone.

Across the UK, community groups, family hubs and baby banks are helping families with more than just baby essentials. They're giving parents a place to ask for help, meet others and feel supported during difficult times.

At Wolverhampton Baby Bank, every donation, every volunteer and every kind conversation helps build that community.

Every baby deserves a good start

Preparing for a baby should be a time of excitement, but for many families, it can also come with a lot of financial pressure.

A recent Barnardo’s survey found that 4 in 10 parents in the UK struggled to afford all the essential items their baby needed during their first six months.

From nappies and baby clothes to blankets, toiletries and safe sleeping essentials, the costs can quickly add up.

This is where baby banks can make such a difference.

By providing essential items and connecting families to support, baby banks help parents feel less alone and help babies get the things they need from the very beginning.

Every baby deserves to start life feeling safe, warm and cared for regardless of their family's financial situation.

Together, we can help give families the support they need.
