The 2026 Members Open Day calendar has been published.

16 Sundays for society members to come and enjoy the collection, library and even get assistance with their ID work or studies.

New for 2026 is the idea to hold 'Surgeries' during some of these days and the first one will be on January 11th.

Hymenoptera surgery: Gavin Broad will be on hand all day so members are welcome to drop in to the Pelham-Clinton building for help with Hymenoptera identification, advice on specimen preservation, general questions about biology, etc.

Please note that Gavin’s preferred Hymenoptera are parasitoid wasps, and that species identifications are often not feasible, although he is more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Please view our website and specifically the Events section here https://www.benhs.org.uk/events/ noting the advice on checking ahead of travelling long distances or during stormy weather.
