🦔 A hedgehog visitor 🌿

We had a spikey visitor to the Balsam Centre garden on Tuesday when a hedgehog was spotted making its way across the gravelled area.

It’s unusual to see a hedgehog out during daylight hours and can be a sign it is unwell. Our volunteers thought it might be dehydrated, so it was 'rescued' from its trek across the gravel and moved to a quiet, shady spot with some water.

However, when it was spotted out again during the day on Wednesday, the volunteers took our little visitor to Hazelbury Bryan Hedgehog Rescue, where they were told it was quite a young hedgehog and considerably underweight.

So, for now, it has been left in their care to be looked after and, hopefully, brought back to full health. ❤️🦔

We’ll keep you posted and update you when we have more news.

A big thank you to Hazelbury Bryan Hedgehog Rescue for taking care of our unexpected visitor!
