Throughout September, the Mission Rabies Cambodia team continued community-based rabies education activities in Battambang, expanding outreach to local pagodas.

Monks play an important role in many communities, often interacting with and caring for free-roaming and community dogs. By engaging them in rabies awareness activities, we're helping strengthen knowledge of rabies prevention and encourage safe responses to potentially rabid animals.

Delivered in collaboration with CAD - Children's Action for Development, these education activities have reached more than 600 community members so far in 2026, extending vital rabies prevention messages beyond schools and into the wider community 💙🐶

Vaccinating at scale takes more than vaccines. It takes data.

In Guinea, teams are using the Settlement Type and Road Connectivity (STARC) tool alongside real-time field data to identify priority areas, plan campaigns and direct resources where they can have the greatest impact on rabies transmission.

Combined with strong community engagement and partnerships, this approach is helping support Guinea's ambition to eliminate rabies by 2030.

Big things are coming to Cambodia.

As we prepare for The Big Shot this October, planning is well underway for our upcoming mass dog vaccination campaign.

To help communities get involved, the Mission Rabies Cambodia website now includes public campaign schedules, making it easier for dog owners and community members to see when vaccination teams will be operating in their area.

Because vaccinating 200,000 dogs in just 14 days takes more than vaccines alone. It takes preparation, coordination, and communities working together.

September in Malawi.

Throughout September, Mission Rabies Malawi teams continued mass dog vaccination activities across multiple districts, including Zomba City.

The impact?

🐶 76,143 dogs vaccinated
🐱 10,881 cats vaccinated

That's 87,024 animals protected against rabies in just one month.

Every vaccination brings us closer to a future where nobody dies from this entirely preventable disease 💉
