Blooming marvellous! 🌹Our greenfingered members planted 80 Hidcote lavenders under our beautiful Rotary roses in the Wilmslow Memorial Park. The lavenders will not only look and smell lovely, but will also keep the greenfly away. Job well done!👍

Every summer we treat local groups of the disabled, care home residents, veterans etc to a lovely trip on the Macclesfield Canal which teems with wildlife. This week our members dug into their own pockets for a group outing with fish and chips. It was much enjoyed by all even though it rained nonstop!

A ÂŁ500 donation to East Cheshire Hospice in memory of our wonderful Friend Angela Greensmith who changed the lives of many seniors in Wilmslow and District for almost 3 decades with her Movement to Music classes which she even continued over Zoom during lockdown. They were not just falls prevention classes for a wide variety of abilities, but were fun and forged lifelong friendships over tea and biscuits after the exercises.
President Frank McCarthy and Treasurer Marianne Martyn presented the cheque to the East Cheshire Hospice Fundraising Team.
We are always looking for People of Action who want to support our community!

A carboot full of nappies, pants, cuddlies and kids toothbrushes has now been handed over by us to the Little Green Sock project, a small but impactful charity in Trafford which supports 1,000 families in crisis in Manchester and surrounding areas. A big Thankyou again to Tesco Handforth Dean for your great community spirit! ❤️

Nappies, cuddly wraps and children’s toothbrushes galore donated by Tesco’s as they had no barcodes. We will now distribute them to local charities for young mums in need. Thank you Tesco and their Community Champion Paolina! ❤️

What a fascinating talk by local author Caroline England, the “Duchess of dark domestic noir”, about her life and books, after new President Frank McCarthy had taken over from Marianne Martyn.

Domestic psychological thriller writer Caroline lifts the curtains in her books on what goes on behind closed doors in the Cheshire Golden Triangle, Manchester and Leeds, drawing from her past experience as a divorce and indemnity lawyer and knowledge of our area.

A most enjoyable evening shared with a large group of guests, fellow Rotarians from Knutsford and Macclesfield and Wilmslow Community Coordinator Helen Yates.

Great Irish Charity Event with an Irish fiddler, Irish dancing, singing, an Irish quiz, a delicious Irish stew and Baileys cheesecake. There were raffle prizes galore. Thanks to Bramhall and Woodford Rotary for organising such great entertainment in aid of Sign Post which supports Stockport’s unpaid carers. 👏👏👏
